Senior QA EngineerDepartment overview:Global Markets Group is a ~$200m business within the larger Financial Services at IHS Markit. We service the primary markets and provide a variety of platforms and services that help with Deal Data and Analytics, Book Building and Deal Workflow, Prospectus and Compliance Delivery. Quality Assurance within GMG technology organization is a global team that provides quality assurance service across Global Markets suit of applications. Quality Assurance works closely with Client Services, Operations, Development to improve the quality of the products. Our work helps ensure that Financial Markets continues to provide high quality product and maintain client satisfaction.Position summaryAs a Software Engineer in Test, you will participate in a fast-paced Agile development team, building financial web applications. Your main responsibilities will be to design, develop, and implement manual and automated tests for software solutions that scale across hundreds of servers as well as learn and leverage the current methodologies and technologies. This specific opportunity is within Fixed Income team.Duties & accountabilitiesThe responsibilities of Software Engineer in Test are primarily focused providing working automation solutions to quality assurance team.- Create and manage automated test cases using JAVA/.NET or Python- Proficiency in Programming language coding practices- Develop and executes manual tests- Open to switch gear and learn new language and deliver-Works with developers and product owners closely to review test coverage-Able to quickly learn new technology and business areas and to apply these to new projects and products within the HIS Markit business/technology arena-Strong written and verbal interpersonal skillsBusiness competenciesEducation and experience

  • University graduate or equivalent
  • 6+ years of software development and/or testing experience.
  • Domain knowledge in the Global Capital Markets
Commercial awareness
  • Excellent understanding of software systems and technology
  • Good understanding of SDLC
Personal competenciesPersonal impact
  • Ability to write SQL queries
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to advocate quality initiatives and best practices including test automation, Continuous Integration, and Sprint Doneness within an Agile Development environment
  • Insight and working knowledge/experience of test design in both a manual and automated framework, such as Specflow, Selenium Webdriver
