Job Description

Designation: Senior Research Investigator/Research Investigator-Process EngineeringJob Location: HyderabadDepartment: Chemical Development-Process EngineeringJob PurposeThis position is for a chemical engineer with exposure to research and development, generating engineering and safety data related to various unit processes and unit operations. He/She will be responsible for applying core chemical engineering principles towards process and product development. Perform experiments towards reaction optimization, crystallization, distillation, filtration, drying, evaporation, and scale down experiments to support data towards manufacturing campaigns. Generate technical reports for ongoing process development projects and operations in the laboratory. To utilize PAT tools (ReactIR, FBRM, PVM) for experimentation. Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and own the process engineering data generated against each project within CD-BU
    • Take ownership of deliverables produced & their quality.
    • Write and review technical and proposal reports
    • Ensure appropriate checking & review of all process engineering documents before releasing to scaleup group.
    • Manage a team of 6 to 8 Sr. research associates /Associate scientists/Process engineers
    • Coordination with the other Engineering disciplines, cross-functional teams, client and vendors
    • Interface with Leads of PRD, ARD, Process Safety, Process scaleup to reflect the as-on-date input on plan and progress, as applicable
    • Attend project review meetings.
    • Project problem solving and decision making
    • Assist HOD in all departmental/BU initiatives and functions.
    • Responsible for change management and trend notifications
Secondary responsibilities
    • Identify the training needs of the team members.
    • Keep HOD informed on the progress of the project with agreed periodicity.
Educational Qualification: Ph.D in Chemical Engineering (1-3 years of exp.) in Pharma or Agro sciencesTechnical/functional Skills:
  • Experience in working in a laboratory environment
  • Experience in setting up experiments and generate engineering, chemical and physical data
  • Experience in generating/analyzing/developing engineering, safety and scaleup package towards developing robust and scalable processes through reaction kinetics & modelling, optimization, process intensification, Quality by design(QbD), Design of experiments(DoE), scaleup and scale-down strategies, heat and mass balances etc
  • Experience in generating data to support filtration, distillation, crystallization and other unit operations and scaleup requirements
  • Proficient in literature search, Dynochem, Visimix, DoE (minitab/Design expert) and simulation software s etc.
  • Experience in process modelling and simulations, P&ID, P&FD etc
  • Design and troubleshooting of chemical process equipment s and processes of batch manufacturing
  • Research investigation and provide innovative solutions
  • Strong orientation towards quality, safety, Data integrity, compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Exposure towards global projects/clients working with cross functional teams across geographical location.
Experience:
  • 1-3 years post qualification
