Job Description

  • The Azure Compute India Team is looking for highly motivated and talented engineers to contribute to the next generation of our services. One set of Azure services (Azure Site Recovery) helps customers protect their mission critical on-premises as well as in-Azure workloads by providing world class disaster recovery functionality. Another set of Azure services (Azure Migrate) builds upon the disaster recovery services and helps customers discover, assess and migrate their on-premises workloads to Azure. All these services are completely built from scratch, owned, managed, and operated at IDC.
  • Azure Site Recovery is a differentiated Azure offering that is only supported by the Azure public cloud. It provides an end to end service that includes a highly scalable management and control plane services, hyper-scale data plane services, on-premises appliances and full-fledged portal experiences. In 2018, Microsoft was named a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Disaster Recovery as a Service.
  • Azure has firmly established itself as an attractive destination for enterprise IT assets, and interest in migrating IT systems to Azure is at an all-time high. 2019 is said to be the year of migration. As our customers embark and continue their journey of digital transformation, our team has the responsibility to make their transition to Azure as seamless and anxiety free as possible. Azure Migrate is the newest set of services being built by the team and fuels the lift and shift momentum helping customers migrate from on-premises to Azure. As Azure embarks on moving millions of machines and workloads from on-premises to Azure in the coming years, it is betting on the Azure Migrate umbrella services to realize this vision.
  • Our focus is to build & operate fully automated, highly scalable, trustworthy and secure first-party Azure services that our customers can rely on. We take pride in our engineering workmanship, the designs we implement and the code we write, and we strive to build and operate services that consistently meet the performance, scale, usability, availability and reliability needs of our customers. Our services are meant to provide disaster recovery and migration solutions to customers that range in size from small mom-n-pop shops with a few 10 s of machines to the Chevron s and the Accenture s of the world that have hundreds of thousands of machines.
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
  • Solid coding skills in C/C++ or C#/Java
  • Solid CS fundamentals, fluent in multi-threaded and asynchronous programming, strong inclination for architecting at scale.
  • Excellent technical design, problem solving, debugging and communication skills
  • Proven ability to create componentized, well-architected software at a component level.
  • Demonstrated experience in shipping high quality cloud services is a plus
