Job Description

    Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack)Work: 6 months contract Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at Appen. In this role, you will utilize your extensive software development knowledge to build and enhance complex systems and applications, contributing to the evolution of AI and machine learning technologies.Key Responsibilities:
    • Design, develop, and implement enterprise class software applications and delight our customers.
    • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications by solving complex problems.
    • Collaborate effectively with product managers, data scientists, and other engineers to define and achieve project goals.
    • Mentor younger team members by providing guidance on coding standards, design principles, and the application of new technologies.
    • Lead code and design reviews, championing high-quality software development and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment and maintenance.
    • Translate business requirements into robust, scalable, and secure software solutions.
    • Lead from the front, fail-fast and ship with agility
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelors degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A masters degree is a plus.
    • 5 years of experience in software development.
    • Hands-on experience developing software using agile methodologies.
    • Expert knowledge in Java, Spring Boot, and React/TypeScript/JavaScript
    • Strong background in developing microservices and building RESTful APIs.
    • Work experience in designing relational database management systems (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases.
    • Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience with AI and machine learning is highly desirable.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to mentor junior team members.
    • Experience working with Kafka, Redis, Elasticsearch, AWS, CI/CD pipelines
