Senior Software Engineer in Product SecurityLocation Remote Czech RepublicPosting date 1 day ago(5/31/2021 8:51 AM)Job ID 86549 Job summary The Red Hat Product Security team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us. In this role, you will work as part of a team responsible for development and maintenance of our tool related to the OVAL project, which generates vulnerability metadata for our customers and 3rd party scanner vendors. You will also work on reinventing our internal tooling (Security Flow Manager) used by our analysts for detection, processing and fixing of vulnerabilities. Youll need to be passionate about crafting highly usable tools, services, and solutions to improve end user productivity and development joy. You will need to be someone who loves digging into technically challenging problems to come up with creative solutions, is smart, friendly and collaborative. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business. Primary job responsibilities

  • Design and develop our tooling for intake, processing, and fixing of vulnerabilities
  • Design and develop our tooling to generate vulnerability metadata for our customers
  • Document newly developed features and APIs for our customers (e.g., new CVE pages)
  • Help test new features
  • Deploy new versions of our tooling into production
  • Serve as advisor to our stakeholders on process related inquiries
  • Continuously improve the process of software delivery from scoping to deployment, while maintaining a sustainable pace
Required skills
  • Great experience developing in Python
  • Good user experience with Linux
  • Interest in the container ecosystem (e.g., Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift, Docker, Podman, etc.)
  • Experience with agile and comfortable with rapid iteration and fast delivery
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
The following are considered a plus:
  • Experience with Django, Javascript and relational databases (e.g., Postgresql, Teiid)
  • Ansible experience
  • Understanding of security technologies (e.g., CSAF, CPE, etc.)
