• Understand the requirements for the entire project (not just own features)
• Work closely with PMG during the design phase to drill down into detailed nuances of the requirements
• Question the motivation behind certain requirements and work with PMG to refine them
• Design internal frameworks and abstractions
• Articulate and evaluate pros/cons of design alternatives
• Generate cost estimates for a design
• Build internal frameworks
• Know and bring in external frameworks
• Consistently avoid coding pitfalls
• Solve cross-functional problems
• Identify impacts/side effects outside of immediate scope of work
• Identify cross-module issues
• Be able to predictively i dentify problems
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously and context switching between them
• Enforce process Standards
• Act independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments
• Prioritize large tasks and projects
• Release Planning: work with the PO and be able to do high level release commitment and estimation
• Work with PO on defining stories of appropriate size
• Drive the team to have a high level of accomplishment on the committed stories for each Iteration
• Show Agile leadership qualities and leads by example
• Work with development teams and identifying the right division of technical responsibility based on skill sets
• Work with external teams (e.g. Support, PO, etc.) that have significantly different technical skill sets and manage the discussions based on their needs
• Create innovative solutions that may include changes to requirements to create a better solution
• Think outside-the-box to view the system as it should be rather than only how it is
• Proactively generate a continual stream of ideas and pushes to review and advance ideas if they make sense
• Take initiative to learn how technology is evolving outside Optum, part of the UnitedHealth Group family of businesses

Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
• B.E/B.Tech/MCA/Msc/MTech (Minimum 16 years of formal education, Correspondence courses are not relevant)
• 4-8 years of experience working on multiple layer of technology
• Experience in Agile team
• Good experience in SQL (MS SQL Server)
• Working experience in Web Services/API, REST Architecture, etc.
• Working experience in CI/CD pipeline (test, build, deployment and monitoring automation)
• Working experience or good knowledge of cloud platform (e.g. OpenShift, Azure, AWS, OCI)
• Technically hands-on and excellent in Design, Coding and Testing
• Knowledge of software configuration management and packaging
• Knowledge of build tools such as Maven/Gradle
• Hands-on knowledge of OpenSource adoption and use cases
• Good understanding of Data/Information security
• Good in Data Structure, Algorithms and Design Patterns
• Well-versed in all areas of development stack (UI, API, Database, etc.) and ability to be aware of all components in play
• Front End: React.JS/Node.JS, HTML5/CSS3
• Back End: Java, Node.JS, Sprint Boot, REST, JPA
• Middleware: RabbitMQ
• Testing: JUnit, JMockit
• DevOps: Jenkins, GitHub, Docker, SonarQube, Fortify, OpenShift
• Good Knowledge in Engineering Practices
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
