Job Description

    Position Overview:The Steel Warehousing Shift Incharge is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the steel warehousing facility during their assigned shift. This role involves supervising a team of warehouse personnel, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of steel products, maintaining inventory accuracy, and upholding safety and quality standards.Key Responsibilities:
    1. Supervision and Leadership:
    - Lead, motivate, and manage a team of warehouse associates during the assigned shift.- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring a smooth workflow and efficient utilization of resources.- Provide training and guidance to new and existing staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
    1. Operations Management:
    - Oversee the loading, unloading, stacking, and storage of steel products according to established procedures and safety guidelines.- Coordinate with other departments, such as logistics and production, to ensure timely movement of steel products to and from the warehouse.- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records using appropriate warehouse management systems.
    1. Quality Control:
    - Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure the integrity of stored steel products.- Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse to identify any signs of damage, corrosion, or other quality issues.- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address and resolve quality-related concerns.
    1. Safety Compliance:
    - Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to create a safe working environment for all warehouse personnel.- Conduct safety training sessions and provide guidance on the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling of equipment.
    1. Performance Monitoring:
    - Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouse productivity, accuracy, and efficiency.- Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize warehouse processes and achieve performance targets.
    1. Communication and Reporting:
    - Communicate effectively with other shift supervisors, managers, and cross-functional teams to coordinate operations and address any challenges.- Prepare shift reports detailing operational activities, issues, and achievements.
    1. Problem Solving:
    - Identify and resolve operational issues, such as discrepancies in inventory, equipment malfunctions, and staffing concerns.- Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to minimize future issues.Qualifications and Requirements:- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelors degree in supply chain management or related field is a plus.- Knowledge in SAP, Excel & Microsoft Office.- Proven experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a steel or heavy industrial environment.- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.- Knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory control techniques.- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse setting.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.- Flexibility to work different shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
