Job Description

TRAINEE SOFTWARE ENGINEERCareers that Change LivesTrainee Engineer Software for the R&D Engineering function of Medtronic Engineering and Innovation Center R&D facility. The individual will operate in all phases and contribute to all activities of the software development process. Candidates must be willing to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking, team environment. The Engineer frequently interacts with Tech Lead, other developers, V&V engineers, internal partners and stakeholders concerning estimations, design, implementation or requirement clarifications, works closely with global sites.A Day in the LifeKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, Develop and test Software high integrity software for medical devices.
  • Learn and understand software standards for Medical devices, ex. IEC62304.
  • Work with minimal guidance / independently under general direction of Senior Engineers and in collaboration with team
  • Independently deliver on low to medium complex work
  • Define and implement software requirements and designs and review software developed by other team members.
  • Demonstrate ownership of software feature/module and drive development of the feature/module through SDLC.
  • Maintain, improve and design new software tools.
Education and Required Experience:
  • Masters in Engineering or Masters in Technology Computer Science or equivalent from a premium institute with 0-1 years of Software industry experience. OR
  • Bachelors in Engineering or Technology with 2-3 years of experience
  • Proficiency with one or more of the following programming languages: C#, .NET, HTML, Java, JavaScript, C++, Python.
  • Strong Problem solving: Independently solves medium to complex problems
  • Strong Communication skills
Preffered Skills/Competencies:
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in Software development
  • 2+ years experience building enterprise application and testing and Knowledgeable in Test Driven Development methodologies.
  • 2+ years of experience using Agile methodology
  • Experience in working with TFS/Azure DevOps and CI environments.
