We embrace the hybrid model and celebrate the individual strengths of each team member while encouraging everyone on the team to grow into the best version of themselves.As a Lead Software Engineer, your responsibilities will include:Envision and build new components/frameworks in distributed filesystems in an ever-growing and evolving market technology to provide scale and efficiencyDesign and develop high-quality, production-ready code used by millions of users of our cloud platformBuild efficient components/algorithms on a microservice multi-tenant SaaS cloud distributed filesystem environmentCode review, mentor junior engineers, and provide technical guidance to the teamJob DutiesResearch, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programsUpdate software or enhance existing software capabilitiesLead the team with the product owner role in collecting requirements, defining the roadmap, driving partners, and unblocking the team in executionContribute to the success of the scrum team through code reviews, deployment process automation, documentation, refinement, planning, and retrosLead, collaborate, communicate, and mentor others on the team and in the companyWork closely with cross-functional teams to deliver a roadmap that meets shared business goalsResolve complex technical issues and drive innovations that improve system scalability, robustness, and availabilityTroubleshoot issues with services the team develops and ownsParticipate in the teams on-call rotation to keep services operational and highly availableCreate, maintain, and share technical documentation used by engineers and other team membersTelecommuting is an option; some travel to Salesforce offices may be requiredRequired Skills10 years of software development experience with mastery in systems design and programming languages/platformsDeep knowledge of designing distributed filesystems in both on-prem & cloudDeep knowledge of object-oriented programming and scripting languages: Java, Python; strong SQL skills and experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, Trino)Experience developing SaaS products over public cloud infrastructure AWS / Azure / GCPProven experience designing and developing distributed systems at scale proficiency in queues, locks, scheduling, event-driven architecture, and workload distributionStrong understanding of software development best practices with demonstrated leadership skillsPreferred SkillsDesign patterns & experience with Big Data / ML and S3Hands-on experience with streaming technologies like KafkaExperience with ElasticsearchExperience with Terraform, Kubernetes, DockerExperience working in a high-paced, rapidly growing multinational organizationLeadership ExpectationsDemonstrate high proficiency in engineering best practices scalability, security, fault tolerance, concurrency, and database modeling to consistently ensure high-quality software deliveryLead by example, guiding the team in adopting these standards while effectively navigating risks and making strategic technical trade-offsLeverage deep domain expertise to anchor the team and personally drive the most complex and challenging deliverablesMaintain a holistic, systems-level vision of how the teams work integrates into the broader organizational architectureDrive comprehensive technical design specifications and robust test plans to guide successful team executionUnleash Your Potential .
