20 years and 2 million-years of patient data waiting for you to unlock the next breakthrough in medicine.Contribute to or support aspects of planning, design, development and delivery of system solutions for a specific business or technology area, in alignment with design and architectural standards and business requirements. Capture, qualify and help prioritize new IT demand and ensure IT services provided to business are meeting service quality standards as per agreed SLAs.Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Identify and qualify new demand and assist with steering proposals through the early phases of approval; help establish budgets and investment proposals and obtain sponsorship and funding.- Ensure the introduction of new / modified services happens in a planned, controlled and timely manner to minimize disruption and increase benefit. Also represent IT to the business or IT groups receiving services, ensuring that expectations for IT services are met.- Develop, build, configure, customize, and unit test solutions based on the functional and technical specifications and create the detailed IT solution/service design, based on functional specifications, to meet quality and performance requirements and technical constraints.- Work to integrate services horizontally across organizational units, and manage interfaces between Service Delivery projects. Directly contribute in the design, implementation and rollout of Data Engineering solution on Novartis Big Data platforms, including code management and review, (automated) testing, configuration and performance tuning.- Collaborate with Full Stack Engineering team to meet CI/CD requirements and ensure smooth deployment of Data Engineering components- Contribute in Data Model design, including lineage, cataloguing and monitoring - Ensure that system designs adhere to solution architecture design (i.e. high level conceptual design) and are traceable to functional as well as non-functional requirements in projects/enhancements - Ensure designs produced adhere to architectural roadmap and support the development, execution and operations of solutions. Ensure system design standards are defined to improve and sustain standardization of solutions that meet requirements outlined in the architecture handbook- Support scoping, fit-gap workshops for projects/enhancements, propose solutions for key gaps, provide effort estimations and alignment with business teams - Ensure that project/enhancements work is delivered to agreed time, cost and quality constraints following the release calendarsEEO Statement Novartis is committed to building an outstanding, inclusive work environment and diverse teams representative of the patients and communities we serve.Minimum requirements What you ll bring to the role:- University degree in Information Systems or comparable education, experience or equivalent.- Experience : 8+ years IT experience, 4+ years Analytics / Big Data experience, proven skills & experience in solution design and / or architecture- Hands on experience for implementation in Spark (either scala or python), Databricks, EMR platform with experience in AWS services S3, Glue, Athena, Lamdba, Redshift is preferred.- Knowledge in Snowflake, Matillion, Graph database is added advantage. - Experience in working in an Analytics / Big Data environment with code management tools, CI/CD, automated testing.- Good knowledge of applications in a Big Data environment.Why consider Novartis 769 million lives were touched by Novartis medicines in 2020, and while we re proud of this, we know there is so much more we could do to help improve and extend people s lives.We believe new insights, perspectives and ground-breaking solutions can be found at the intersection of medical science and digital innovation.
