General Summary:This position is responsible for the development and documentation of standard security architectures and frameworks working in coordination with network, product development, devops, operations and other Syniverse internal groups. This includes leading risk analysis, solutions development and implementation, and decision making that will guide projects and ensure security gates are included. A Senior Advisory Security Architect will be expected to demonstrate innovative approaches to solving complex business challenges while participating in product delivery to customers. The ideal candidate should have experience in the following areas: Cloud, Network protocols, security administration, intrusion detection/prevention, Secure Application Development, and Containers.Principal Duties and Responsibilities: tAssist in designing complex application security architecture. Coordinate technical design/review activities with application development, enterprise architecture, systems, network, and database groups to develop secure frameworks and enterprise solutions. tAssist in designing the enterprise security infrastructure and architectural topology, including participating in the establishment of the security road map to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, availability, and privacy of information systems. tDevelop standards and procedures to safeguard information systems from unauthorized users. tResearch, recommend and implement changes to standards and procedures to enhance systems security. tEducate staff to increase awareness of information security policies and best practices. tIdentify process risks, weaknesses and controls, and develop recommendations and plans to address vulnerabilities tEvaluate new products, service offerings, and new internal applications to ensure that information assets are handled in accordance with laws, regulations and organization s information security policies tIdentify and develop requirements for an effective monitoring and intrusion response capability tResearch new security tools and applications and assess their applicability to the team s operational capability. tProvide information security leadership to Security Organization. tSecure architecture designs relative to both on-prem and cloud environments.Job Requirements: tBS in Computer Science, Information Systems, related field or equivalent work experience t7 years of experience as a security practitioner, 3 of those in a security architecture role tFamiliarity with telecommunications and wireless industry knowledge a plus. tStrong platform knowledge, UNIX, Windows, , Network elements, Radius, Firewalls, Proxy servers, Email servers, Cloud) tStrong written and oral communication skills tStrong analytical skills tWorking knowledge of Project Management discipline and process tCertification as a CISSP, CISA, CISM or GIAC certification(s) (desired) tOrganization, leadership and facilitation skills tStrong influence skills tExpert-level troubleshooting skills tExpert Knowledge of Security Policies/Practices tSecurity Application knowledge tStrong and current industry knowledge tDatabase knowledge (Access, Oracle, MySQL) tAdvanced communication protocol knowledge (TCP/IP, UDP, SS7) tIncident Handling & Response experience tExpert level of awareness of current attack vectors tProvide critical thinking to complex problems in a 24/7, mission critical network environment tProficient with network concepts and technologies such as network IPS, dynamic routing protocols, VPN, and NATAdditional Information,
