Job Description

General SummaryThe Enterprise System Engineer is a DevOps position within Syniverse and provides technical expertise and operational support within a Global team. The resource will mentor and function as the prime resource to support existing and new solutions driving Operational efficiencies through automation, continuous improvement, and CI-CD processes. Coordinates with customers to resolve technical support issues as a Subject Matter Expert across the platforms. Principal Duties & Responsibilities Provide Operational and Product level support for internal projects and customer facing issues. Provide subject matter expertise in Operational and CI-CD processes, contributing to improving the methods and procedures while mentoring junior team members Continuous improvement in system visibility and applications with advanced monitoring, metrics and log analytics Identify and deliver monitoring and logging solutions for existing and new technology stacks Assist within the Operations teams in addressing challenges due to lack of modern DevOps practices, help to recommend DevOps solutions in line with the customer s goals Identification of root causes on critical problems throughout the platform, incident reports and the organization of the engineering team members in steps to resolve issues Communication across third party services to effectively resolve day-to-day issues and relay updates to the rest of the team Job Requirements and Qualifications BS in Computer Science preferred, equivalent work experience will be considered 5+ years relevant professional experience in the areas of server support, technical customer support, problem management. 1-2+ years of demonstrated Cloud Experience Experience performing cloud operations tasks, such as increasing volume sizes, or upgrading deployments, with little to no down time. General cloud ops knowledge with at least one provider, private or public, such as lifecycle, auto scaling, cloud-config, security, instance lifecycle, business continuity etc. preferably AWS 3+ years experience in an operations or application development environment using scripting or advanced programming skills Experience designing and building integrated environments using Jenkins, Ansible, and Jira Experience in Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS and other container based solution Monitoring solution development and implementation experience Experience building and deploying services using VMWare technology is desired Logging experience (Elasticsearch Logstash Kibana) ELK Stack tExperience with Messaging; Application to Person, Person to Person, CPaaS, Rich Communication Suite, etc.Additional Information,
