Job Description

What is the Senior Operations Analyst - Fiduciary Asset Services in Fiduciary Operations team responsible for

  • Assist Asset Servicing Analyst by reviewing the daily work, resolving and addressing issues as they occur. Ensure accuracy of all the transactions processed related to Free Receiving and delivering of assets in client accounts, Private Placement, Reversals & Backdates, Tax Lot adjustments and Cost Basis Reporting. As experience is gained; Sr Analyst will guide Analyst on complex transaction processing within the group. Requires the ability to gather & research information, resolve problems, and work well in daily deadline-oriented environment. Also requires the ability to work on multiple problems at the same time and to keep all appropriate personnel informed of current activity and events. This would entail dealing with various internal contact persons, therefore requires excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities include the following:
  • Process and verifying of Free Receives & Delivers. Maturity process and collection of receivables. Process all transactions for Private Placements. Collection of receivables for all maturities. Processing Open Orders and Distributions. Processing Reversals and Re-processing the trades as per client request.
  • Backdating the transactions to past date with due authorizations. Understanding Cost Basis Reporting concerns and processing the adjustments. Assist in any special projects as requested and assist other staff as necessary. Entire process verification. All senior personnel will have to get cross trained on all departmental activities and accordingly impart knowledge transference within the team.
  • Requires sound knowledge on financial markets. Requires ability to co-ordinate with the Technology teams and various internal sources to ensure all the requests are processed effectively and efficiently with the timelines. Must be well acquainted with Client statements and adhere to the procedures set forth with this job description.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Senior Operations Analyst - Fiduciary Asset Services in Fiduciary Operations Team Oversee and process all requests in the GMB and completing them with daily deadlines related to Free Receives & Delivers, Private placements, Reversals & Backdates:
  • Follow up with staff and ensure all processes are completed accurately and timely. Take action on any items requiring follow up and ensuring necessary personnel are notified. Reviewing posted free receives transactions in client accounts with accurate cost details & outgoing assets to other custodian (Domestic & Global assets).Reconciling assets and cash breaks with custodian records and in case of discrepancies, need to work with TACC work to understand the outstanding items and making necessary adjustments for closure. Reviewing Maturity processing and make sure receivables are cleared as per custodian reports.
  • Verification of Interest payments processing which are associated with Maturity. Private Placement security bookkeeping of records in client accounts. Validation of Open Orders and distributions for Pool investment securities. Working on other tasks like - weekly break escalation report, teamwork stats. Processing of volumes were additional work is received in daily activities. Will back up supervisory activities to oversee team in absence of the supervisor. Responsible to preparing training schedule for new hires and then executing accordingly.
Research, evaluate and disseminate Cost Basis Reporting concerns and processing the adjustments of Amortization, Date of Death and cost adjustments:
  • Reversing the transactions which need a correction. Event reversals should be done when events require modifications. Re-posting of trades/transactions with amendments is required to pair off the reversal transaction in client accounts. Backdating the transactions to past date with due authorizations. Understanding Cost Basis Reporting concerns and processing the adjustments of Amortization. Cost adjustments as per Client requests.
  • Revision of processing codes and explanation text. Date of Death validation: Through analysis is needed prior to DOD validation is needed and necessary adjustments should be reflected. Amortization Reconciliation: On a monthly basis, amortization adjustments should be performed for Bonds securities and need to make sure that amortization values are accurate in all client accounts. Assisting Tax operations on client elections, data productions team with OOBs. Adhoc requests from technology team for corrections. Customer support; leading business meetings, Working with auditors [internal/external] where applicable.
Leadership skills that include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Act as a backup for the supervisor. Able to handle day to day activities in absence of the supervisor. Help supervisor in process reporting. Track the internal errors and ensure Team is updated with procedural changes. Should be able to resolve queries/issues from the Team with minimum dependency on the supervisor.
  • Support supervisor in internal & external audits. Assist in the mentoring of other team members.Assist in the training of new team members and retraining of existing team members. Assist in any special projects as requested and other staff during spikes and as necessary.
, What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful in this role Education:MBA (Finance) and accounting domain necessary.Relevant Years of Experience:3+ years experience requirement relevant experience in the securities services.Industry / Specialization:Sound knowledge of the Securities Market.Licenses and Certifications:AMFI certification is a plus.Additional Comments:Background in finance desirable.Experience in related line of business desirable (trade settlements, corporate actions, securities processing).Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to work independently and as a member of a team which includes the ability to be flexible and adaptable, and take initiative on one s own.Innovative thinking
