• The Senior Engineering Supervisor serves as a technical manager in the R&D Engineering function of Neuroscience division within Medtronic s Neuromodulation business.
• The Senior Engineering Supervisor leads a small team of software test engineers working on activities such as requirements analysis, test design, verification and automation, specializing in mobile/ web application or similar platform testing enabling the Neuromodulation software product roadmap.
• The Senior Engineering Supervisor provides an overall program leadership in planning, execution and monitoring of the test strategy for the Neuromodulation product releases.
• The Senior Engineering Supervisor frequently interacts and influences peer managers, internal partners, and stakeholders concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, or contractual clarifications.
• The Senior Engineering Supervisor manages implementation of advanced design and engineering methodologies, techniques, and evaluation criteria. The Senior Engineering Supervisor is responsible for people management, program delivery and technical leadership in support of pre-concept, product and system requirements.

A Day in the Life

• Provides technical leadership to project team ensuring software components are developed and tested to Medtronic quality and regulatory standards

• Provides overall program leadership, and execution of the test strategy for the required Neuromodulation product development and program releases.
• Ensures the team s work products reflect highly professional standards and functional excellence.
• Ensures the product is developed as per the requirements of design control and good software engineering practices
• Actively participates in design verification activities and automation including verification and validation planning and testing.
• Participates in and potentially leads other activities, such as performing hazard and risk analysis, participating in requirements, design and code reviews, etc.
• Manage multiple products over short duration with high level of urgency.
• Plans and participates in hiring talent and improving team engagement.
• Works with management to develop and contribute to the Neuromodulation technology and product roadmap.
• Ability to influence all customers (both internal and external) on issues that impact the business and the product strategies
• Drives innovation of new product concepts and technologies to address unmet customer needs.
• Fosters a culture of inclusion and diversity, which retains and develops team members.
• Effectively communicates with all stakeholders.

Must Haves

• Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Engineering.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in technical and program management encompassing mobile application testing on Android/iOS/ Other cross platform testing
• Exposure to any of the automation frameworks and tools; Selenium, Appium, UI Automator, PageObjects, Katalon
• Must have 2 or more years of experience in managing smaller teams.
• Proven track record of delivering complex programs on time and in budget
• Direct people management, having experience of managing a sizeable team working in hardware, firmware & software application development & verification activities
• Proven ability to deliver projects on time, within budget and meeting business expectations
• Experience in building and nurturing a high performing team that embraces innovation, creativity, quality and reliability including product features, technologies, infrastructure and tools
• Hands-on understanding of the application development lifecycle (right from requirement analysis to deployment)
• Working knowledge of Agile or SAFe software and Systems engineering
• Experience in working with Cross-functional teams in a matrix organization
• Effective and influential communicator (Oral & Written)
• Good analytical and problem solving skills to analyse the test failure and suggest the solutions for the same
• Demonstrated high values of ethics and integrity
• Hands-on experienced in object oriented software programming
• Knowledgeable and/or experience in desktop applications, web applications, mobile apps and/or embedded software technology.

Nice to Haves

• Maters in Engineering or Masters in Technology Computer Sciences, Bio-Technology, Bio-Medical, Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
• Medical device or domain experience
• Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Knowledge of FDA and ISO design control requirements (related to CFR 820.30) 510K, IEC 62304 & other relevant standards
• Experience in working with large, multi-site, matrix organizations.
• Hands-on experience in one or more of the programming or scripting languages (C/C++, C#. Java, Python, JavaScript, Objective-C, Swift etc.)
• Knowledgeable and/or experience in application software programming
• Knowledgeable and/or experience in Test Automation & Test Frameworks.
• Working Knowledge of DRM, Six-Sigma and Black Belt principles
• Knowledge of technology developments as it applies to digital, implantable devices, sensors and other industry trends
• Knowledge of DevOps and continuous integration
• Knowledgeable and/or experience in using mobile automation tools such as Appium, Calabash, Frank or Robotium
• Knowledgeable and/or experience in using test automation tools such as TestComplete, QTP, Selenium, Watir, Eggplant, Cucumber or SOAPUI
• Knowledgeable and/or experience in using static code analysis tools such as SonarQube, Parasoft, Klocwork or Coverity.
• Competent in software development and test processes including design methodologies, design patterns, requirements-driven development, and test-driven development.
