Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE The Supplier Management Services Expert works in close collaboration with the ITSMO Supplier Managers, Function SPOCs (Single Point of Contacts) and Supplier personnel to manage supplier engagements and various initiatives under the purview of ITSMO. The Supplier Management Services Expert role purpose can be defined as: Effectively manage the Supplier Management Service Catalogue to perform a set of standardized activities and processes to deliver value to the function and business Implement the Supplier Governance Model to establish and maintain transparency and mutual trust with suppliers, and to drive optimal value for Novartis measured through defined Supplier Metrics Drive high quality outcomes in accordance with Novartis controls, standards, policies, requirements and best practices Implement standardized Best Practices in the way Novartis engages with / leverages our supplier base Implement Supplier Assurance practices in scope of Supplier Management Services Support the implementation of best practices in the way Novartis engages with / leverages our supplier base Manage engagements with contracted value up to $500K Supports governance of engagements with up to 1000 External FTE MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES Ensure consistent and optimal support regarding Supplier Governance of defined Suppliers ensuring superior quality and follow through on actions Collaborate and proactively engage with supplier account teams, Novartis global IT functions, IT Procurement , and other supporting functions, in managing the supplier governance structures and processes Support the escalation management process as required Provide effective collection, monitoring and analysis of key supplier (non-operations) metrics, including benefits and value creation, location and resource tracking Provide support as needed to adopt best practices regarding Supplier Service Delivery Collaborate with function teams by ensuring clear and concise documentation of technical and operational requirements in planning supplier engagements Support supplier engagement related tracking and reporting Support adherence with Security and Compliance policies and procedures in scope of supplier management activities Support the Supplier Risk Management Process KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS / MEASURES OF SUCCESS Strength and effectiveness of governance structures Process, Quality, Security compliance of vendors Effective support for the optimization of supplier engagements Accurate, consistent, and high quality reporting on IT supplier metrics Quality of vendor engagements / relationships

EDUCATION Essential: oUniversity degree or adequate equivalent EXPERIENCE Proven track record of 8+ years experience in a IT/BPO Supplier Management role Strong stakeholder management skills Strong IT/BPO supplier management skills Strong understanding of IT delivery and commercial models, best practice, and risks related to outsourcing, and ability to drive process metrics and monitoring Strong knowledge of third party risk assessment and risk management policies Good understanding of information management policies Experience in establishing strategic partnerships with Suppliers to deliver high quality services Ability to cope with complexities, ambiguities and matrix organizations 8 + years of experience Works with limited supervision Experience with working in virtual and cross-cultural teams Experienced in coordinating and in directing supplier staff Experienced in Project Management Exposure to Delivery Centre Management (ODC Management) Experienced in Vendor assessment and vendor risk management
