Job Description

If the percentage of time performing a function is less than 5%, that function should not be listed)The major responsibilities will be to:Support Daily activities include loan and loan return processing, mark to market reconciliations, executing cash movements, monitoring and resolving failing returns and process exceptions throughout the day. Inclusive of posting transactionas and/or providing direction and oversightSupport daily collateral margin process, coordinating instructions to deliver/receive collateral with brokers and reconciles daily net cash movements for Fed and DTC transactions.Confirms end of day re-pricing and money movements with brokers and reconciles net cash collateral activity in a timely manner.Ensure daily EOD balancing, ensuring market activity is correctly reflected in the firm s books and records (DML). Providing review and sign-of as neededAssist in driving various firm and team initiatives including Operational Efficiencies and Controls, improving the management of risk and ensuring procedures are maintainedIn addition, the Team Leader will be expected to display the following qualities:Ensure that all FTE s have a clear understanding of their core responsibilities and their reporting lines.Establish and monitor an effective oversight framework ensuring that work is completed on-time or issues are identified & escalated in a timely fashion.Develop effective working relationships with all staff both junior and senior.Demonstrate Risk Excellence culture in your behaviour and nurture the same ethos within the team, encouraging an environment of openness and transparency that fuels effective challenge, debate and open discussion.Establish and nurture a culture of individual and collective ownership at the captive giving all staff a clear sense of both responsibility and accountability.Ensure that all staff adheres to the expected SSGM Code of Conduct.PERSON SPECIFICATIONLevel of Education/ Specific Qualifications:Bachelor s degree4-7 years of experience in the finance industry, familiar with the securities lending agency businessSkills and Experience - interpersonal, numerical, problem-solving, analytical, etc.At least 5 years prior Financial Industry experienceExcellent understanding of the lifecycle of security transactions buys, sells, loans and borrowsExperience of managing staff.A broad understanding of the Prime Brokerage business.An ability to understand complicated workflow and reconciliation controls impacting Securities FinanceAn ability to manage exceptions and remediate/escalate such items at discovery.Experience of a high volume Operations environment.Required Competencies - motivation, team skills, ability to work under pressure, etc.Provide coaching and development opportunities to staff.Strong collaborator, decision maker, problem solver, risk manager, communicator.Customer focus.Demonstrate an Owner s Mindset.Effectively manage risk by understanding procedures and controlsDevelop team goals and project plans to achieve business & client expectations.,
