Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Architect & Streamline the Data Model and implement DB normalization from design phase
  • Review the queries by analyzing explain plan and execution time. Then optimize these by creating right indexes and Data Model
  • Review the execution of shapes on Lifion platform and help on simplifying the use of Lifion platform features from performance engineering
  • Provide technical expertise in support of the design of complex physical data models that describe the structure for data storage, data indexing, data manipulation, and data retrieval applications.
  • Ensure software and solutions are stable and scalable
  • Coordinate with teams across the entire program to ensure alignment with developers needs
  • Mentor and train application developers
  • Act as a focal point for best practices
  • Collaborate with UX and Product on cross functional teams
  • Gather and present requirements for new features
  • Break down barriers to development progress
  • Present progress to stakeholders

Required Experience

  • 12+ years of experience with full cycle application development (Full SDLC experience: architecture, design, development, delivery, etc.)
  • Good understanding of database, architecture and storage engines [Oracle, MySQL, Aurora MySQL]. 2+ Years of experience working with Aurora MySQL and AWS RDS concepts.
  • 5+ years of expertise with standard SQL queries, Triggers, Views, Stored Procedures, and Grants and Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements for performance.
  • Ability to review the data model of the entities for normalization, suggest for standard and recommended database designs in terms of maintainability and scalability.
  • 2+ Years of experience on monitoring application databases in various environments for long running queries, analyze them for slowness, propose the solutions and drive for implementation and coordinate with the respective functional teams.
  • 2+ Years of experience on defining the processes for seamless execution of database scripts for setting up the product for new clients.
  • Overall 12+ years of experience working with large scale SAAS products
  • Experience managing at least one product development team (several preferred)
  • Experience in an iterative, Agile environment
  • Strong CS and product development fundamentals (design patterns, database schema design, data modeling, API design and considerations, design by promise, quality concepts including TDD & BDD approaches)
