273417BR Technical Design Expert - Data Quality Job Description As part of Analytics COE organization, which has been consolidated and responsible for all analytics solutions and technologies across Novartis. The technical design expert for data Quality role is responsible for moving the data quality strategy at Novartis forward with innovative usage of technologies and designs according to business needs. Manage the design and development of data unification solutions and processes in alignment with design and architectural standards, while meeting quality, performance, security, and business requirements. - Develop technical solution design rationale and perform scoping assessments to determine feasibility of data management related projects - Ensure that system designs adhere to solution architecture design (i.e. high level conceptual design) and are traceable to functional as well as non- functional requirements in projects/ enhancements - Ensure designs produced adhere to architectural roadmap and support the development, execution and operations of solutions - Design and develop - Ensure system design standards are defined to improve and sustain standardization of solutions - Ensure that solutions meet requirements outlined in the architecture handbook - Support scoping, fit- gap workshops for projects/ enhancements, propose solutions for key gaps, provide effort estimations and alignment with business teams - Ensure that developed solutions are peer reviewed, formally documented and signed off by business - Ensure that solution testing is performed to meet quality standards - Establish standardized design and development processes to enable cost effective delivery - Ensure the overall user experience is taken into account when designing new solutions and services - Perform scoping, fit- gap workshops for projects/ enhancements, proposes solutions for key gaps, provide effort estimations and align with business teams - Follow standardized design and development processes to enable cost effective delivery - Take accountability to ensure adherence with Security and Compliance policies and procedures within Solution Design scope Minimum requirements Bachelor degree in computer science or related technical discipline; MS or advanced degree preferred English - 7+ years of relevant IT experience in large, multi- national business environments - Hands- on Software development expertise - Deep understanding of data integration and transformation patterns such as messaging, Queues, PubSub models, ETL - Hands- on experience working with data ingestion, cleaning and consolidation processes with large distributed systems (Big Data and Data Lakes) from an architecture and development perspective - Hands- on experience with traditional data warehouse technologies and BI or visualization tools - Machine learning knowledge/ experience including lifecycle, training, re- training of models etc., - Experience building enterprise applications - Experience with any of the following technologies: Tamr, Hadoop, Spark (using PySpark), ElasticSearch, Java, Python, AWS BigData services - DevOps and/ or cloud solutions deployment experience a plus - Advanced quantitative technical degree (MS or PhD) preferred,
