Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits operational, instructional, maintenance, test or user manuals for paper, multimedia or web-based publications. Contributes to the timely design, production and delivery/completion of product documentation and document sets.As a member of the technical writing division, you will design, create and deliver whole product documentation sets and/or related courseware. Edit, organize and direct the work activities of other technical writers and staff. Plan the format, arrange the layout of publications and edit work for conformance to publication standards and specifications.Duties and tasks are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.Create content that our users (all varieties of them) want to read That is, write engaging content, with:Easy-to-read text that can be understood by non-native speakers and that translates wellGraphics that look good and aid understandingWork with product managers, development, and technical support teams to create top-of-the-line content to support product launch and maintenance.Participate in development discussions and review meetings.Ensure that our content:Complies with company style standardsRequires minimal rework during the editing and review processManage your deliverables and track them to completion with minimum supervision.What you need to be successfulEducation and experienceBA/BS or MA/MS in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or a related fieldPreferably 8+ years of experience in writing software documentation.Must haveWritten and oral communication skillsDemonstrated ability to write clear, concise, engaging content in a modern style for a range of audiencesClear communication in meetings, emails, and other forms of communicationAbility to quickly learn and communicate technical concepts and proceduresExperience with information development tools, processes, and techniquesUnderstanding of, and experience with, DITAExperience of an XML-based authoring tool such as Arbortext or OxygenExperience of a version control system such as SubversionOrganizational skills and time managementAbility to effectively multi-task, prioritize, and schedule activitiesAbility to meet aggressive deadlines and deliver on timeCollaboration skillsAbility to operate independently and as part of a larger, virtual teamAbility to develop effective, cooperative working relationships with other internal groups to meet objectives and complete tasksExcellent to haveExperience documenting APIs, especially REST APIsBroad understanding of and experience with agile software developmentNice to haveSome knowledge of application development or web designUnderstanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript (optional)Knowledge of SQL, PL/SQLExperience of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) softwareExperience with Oracle Applications Cloud services,
