Job Description

As a Technical Writer, you will be a key member of the Knowledge Management Practice at GAIAN. You will work with a talented team of professionals to create and manage a broad range of product, platform, and solution-oriented collaterals to support our customers and partners.In this role, you will interact with product managers, solution architects, engineering leads, and developers to gain a deep understanding of the product/platform capabilities and translate your insights into easy-to-use content, tailored for different users, roles, and use cases.The kind of collaterals that you will produce will include How-To (User) Guides, in-product help, API guides, UX/UI content, release notes, configuration guides, deployment guides, Data Sheets etc.This role calls for a high-level of technology acumen, coupled with a solid understanding of the industry landscape and use cases. It goes without saying that you must be a clear thinker with top-notch writing skills (in professional English), adhering to Industry standard styles and guidelines.You must be a motivated, self-starter with lots of initiative with the ability to test the various product features on your own. Must have Skills and Abilities:

  • 5+ years of technical writing experience in a high performing and challenging environment
  • Ability to write in a clear and concise manner and to be able to communicate complex technical information without jargon
  • Proven ability to create documentation for Applications, APIs, and Cloud-based Enterprise Software.
  • Knowledge of HTTP technology and principles, including REST protocols, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, Database technologies and a working knowledge of SQL
  • Solid experience with Confluence, SnagIt, JIRA, Google Docs, and Slack or other collaborative content management tools
  • Expertise in using MS Office tools and publishing tools like MS Publisher and Adobe Frame Maker
  • Proven interpersonal skills, working effectively with various levels of the organization, across many different functional areas.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills (must be able to manage concurrent projects with different project teams).
Responsibilities:
  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements
  • Effectively communicate procedural and technical issues to audience ranging from business to IT users.
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
  • Develop technical content spanning user guides, in-product help, UX/UI content, tutorials, and release notes.
  • Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides
  • Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications
  • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
  • Ensure consistency of communication across all formats
Educational Requirements
  • Graduate degree in Sciences, Engineering, or Humanities with a high-level of exposure to enterprise-grade technology products, services, and industry trends
  • Minimum 4 to 6 years of experience working as part of a high-performance technical content development organization, preferably in the Enterprise Software or PaaS field
