Job Description

    In this role as VP Fraud Risk Credit Abuse Management, the candidate will be responsible for identifying and driving forward innovation across the First Party Fraud strategy team through partnership with Operations combined with knowledge of industry best-practices and analytics. The candidate in this position will be asked to productively challenge the status quo and to partner with fellow Leads to continually improve and achieve common goals. A change-agent is needed in this role. Strong peer-leadership skills are needed. The candidate must maintain a close view into industry best practices and advancement in data, technology, analytics, and methods to combat fraud, and bring these ideas into practical use through effectively designed proofs of concepts which continually ensure a best-in-class Fraud Risk Management structure for JP Morgan Chase. This will require the ability to simplify and focus priorities into projects and work-streams across the team, to ensure these efforts come to fruition, and to create and maintain reporting on performance. In addition to measuring performance related to new strategy and innovation projects, this role will also be responsible for the broader forecasting of losses related to Credit Abuse, with regular updates and presentations to senior management of these metrics. A balance between practicality and an aspirational mindset is critical in this role, as well as peer-influencing and partnership skills. The candidate in this role will sit in an exciting space of constant change in technology and analytics and will be called upon to focus these advancements into practical/measurable, yet cutting-edge solutions to combat Credit Abuse and First Party Fraud.This role also requires extensive collaboration across multiple functions such as Credit Risk, Fraud Operations, Legal/Compliance, IT, as well as Customer Service. Efficient communication and influence skills are expected. Responsibilities:
    • Forecasting of Credit Abuse losses, including regular updates and presentation to senior management
    • Keep up with industry trends and bring innovative third party solutions in credit abuse / synthetic ID space
    • Effective (and ongoing) design and execution of proof of concept projects using cutting-edge technology, data, and analytic methods
    • Peer-leadership of innovation projects across First Party Fraud
    • Ongoing partnership with Operations to acquire deep understanding of suspicious credit abuse behaviors, and using these learnings to drive analytics that provide the granularity needed to identify targeted customer profile
    • Management of end-to-end Credit Abuse strategy development for Chase Card portfolio (Consumer and Business), from strategy development, execution, monitoring, and governance
    • Disciplined approach to testing, project execution and development of robust tracking and performance monitoring capabilities
    • Effective communication across partner teams and at all levels, presenting strategies for approval and obtaining executive buy-in
    • Appropriately assess Credit Abuse risk associated with new product / strategy changes
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college/university in a quantitative discipline. Masters degree preferred
    • 5+ years of experience in a Risk Management or quantitative role, preferably in credit cards or financial services
    • Working knowledge of detection & mitigation practices for fraud types, preferably those related to credit abuse / first party fraud
    • Ability to partner and influence across organizations to deliver new capabilities
    • Experience with SAS and SQL and ability to query large amounts of data and transform the raw data into actionable management information
