The Web Developer will utilize web technology to create internal websites and applications to support Cubic s workforce and customers. Work closely with members of several other disciplines to create a single cohesive solution.Integrate work with the rest of this system and resolve bugs and other problems when they arise.Develop software by completing coding tasks to create algorithms, applications, tools, simulations, and associated technologies in accordance with Cubic s development process.Apply fundamentals of software engineering to assist in the creation of new software technologies and participate in relevant aspects of application design with software engineers and program management. This position typically works under general supervision and direction.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for the analysis, design, development, test, modification and integration of software systems or subsystems for designated products and/or customer applications.Participate in configuration, build and release management, and testing of software with software engineers.Define and executes software test methods and procedures.Collaborates with large, cross functional team environments.Communicates effectively with other members of the team and people from other backgrounds, with English as the primary language for communication.Engages in continuous self-improvement of technical skills and improvements in programming techniques and toolsets.Recommends value added changes to existing coding practices, standards and tools.Previous experience in Drupal 8 coding is a must.Self-motivates to seek out additional tasking when necessary.Uses best judgement to prioritize work.Understanding of good security practices and permission schemes.Ability to determine whether to edit existing functionality (core or module) in a template or a custom module.A good understanding of client-server architecture and template engines.General Duties and Responsibilities:Comply with Cubic s Quality Management SystemComply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and proceduresComply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures of the organisationsComply with Cubic Human Resources ProceduresOther duties as requestedMinimum Job Requirements:Two-year college degree in computer science, computer engineering or other related technical discipline and two years work experience or equivalent.Requires proficiency using the JavaScript programming language, PHP, MYSQL and jQuery. Requires prior experience with at least one JavaScript framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.React experience is preferable above others. Experience working with CSS preprocessors (SCSS/LESS), build tools/task runners (Webpack/Grunt/Gulp), package managers (NPM/Yarn), and version controls systems (Git/Perforce).Must be able to demonstrate skill level through either a portfolio or shipped product(s). Requires proficiency of web development/software engineering best practices. Assists others, regardless of whether it is in your area of expertise.,
