Job Description

    The Senior Automation Test Engineer will be required to:Perform automation tool evaluation and provide recommendations to the Head of QAPlan, design and create automated tests for releasesManage the automated testing of each release to ensure acceptable qualityWork with the wider QA teams to update and extend the automated test processesWork with the developers to resolve issuesEncourage the use of appropriate industry standard best practice and process Key ResponsibilitiesDesigning and developing automation test assets so that applications meet business requirements, system goals and fulfill end-user requirementsIdentifying system issues and working closely with developers to get them resolvedDefining an effective automation framework to ensure maximum reusability, maintainability and flexibility.Executing automated tests in accordance with the test planSeeking out and identifying opportunities for test automationCoordinating automated testing efforts with our off shore team in BangaloreMentoring and coaching members of staff to improve overall testing and technical skillsReporting on progress and any blocking issues slowing or preventing progress in a timely and competent fashion To ensure adherence of automation and coding standards for self and others Technical skillsEssentialIn-depth experience of automated test tools suitable for the use of testing complex web based products3+ Years Advanced scripting experience5+ Years of testing in a testing related roleAbility to create test strategy and test plansStrong design and execution of script based testing techniquesAbility to interrogate Microsoft SQL databasesDesirableAbility to read source code (Microsoft development languages C#, JavaScript, SQL)Experience of consuming JSON-based web servicesWorking in an Agile Scrum environmentCoaching experienceWorking with multi location teamsKnowledge and experience of automated API testingKnowledge and experience of non-functional testingExperience of Virtual Machines / Cloud technologiesThe ability to install and setup the software in a virtual environmentExperience of managing test environments and building test dataExperience of evaluating and selecting appropriate automation test toolsAdvanced understanding of QA process and methodologyExperience with TFS Personal skills and experience EssentialA willingness to learn new technologies and techniquesDemonstrate ability and basic knowledge of database, network, O/S, dependencies and application issuesAbility to adjust test approach within existing application or testing environments when issues occurAbility to troubleshoot, communicate and resolve generalized system, data and/or application issuesAbility to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly languageExceptional attention to detailHighly self-motivated and directedDesirableWorking knowledge of the Marketing industry.Ability to manage complete projects, driving direction and improvement plans ,
