Our talented people empower us, and we believe in being part of a team that is open, collaborative, entrepreneurial, passionate and above all fun.About the teamThe FIS Private Ecomm Team works on ensure joined-up global application, infrastructure, data or security, designs, delivery and influencing the associated software roadmaps that supports the business product roadmaps and drive simplification and technology innovation.GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Knowledge of Bash, Perl, SQL, Java, version control software (ideally Git), SSH, Apache, Squid, Tomcat, NagiosA bold approach to problem solving!Be prepared to follow log trails across multiple servers.Understanding where quick, sometimes brutal, temporary solutions are requiredDeveloping longer lasting solutions (sometimes replacing the above)Be prepared to challenge developers where proposed solutions will adversely impact Test or Production environments.Linux operation knowledge, extending to shell scripting, frequently used command tools, ssh and key-based authentication, file manipulations, networking services and their TCP port usage, regular expressing, log files for general services.Basic understanding of httpd protocol and the response codes, apache + tomcat or weblogic application stacks and apache virtual hosting, database client-side tools and oracle DB response codesXML knowledge.Nagios experienceIdeally some knowledge of current WPG testadmin tools, such as managestream script, test submission tool, acquirerer simulators, build script, Jenkins, etcThe right candidate should also have:Great communication skills - they will be required to communicate issues and subsequent resolutions to teams through out a typical working dayAbility to work independentlyAbility to prioritise the incoming issues and deal with them on that priority basisAbility to deal with other stakeholders in the organisation such as networking teamsFIS JOB LEVEL DESCRIPTIONExpert technical role. Expert knowledge of the field. Develops large and/or highly complex solutions that require analysis and research. Works on multiple projects as a project leader or technical leader/consultant. Works on complex tasks, projects or issues that involve a high degree of risk, impacts business unit performance and makes use of the individuals high level of knowledge within one or more areas of specialty. Coaches and mentors junior technical staff. Works without supervision on the most complex projects. Complete latitude for independent judgment.
