Job Description

Responsible for of the day-to-day operations of the LNG tank barge including the storage, transfer, and vaporization of LNG. Essential functions include, but are not limited to: general maintenance and monitoring the condition of the barge and responsible for the loading of LNG off the truck rack to LNG propelled vessels.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient transfer of liquefied natural gas products between barges, ships, and facilities including completion and accountability of barge logs, bills of lading and load/discharge gauge reports.
  • Directs onboard high-risk cargo transfer operations.
  • Monitor product level in tanks in relationship to pressure control and temperature monitoring, operate diesel engines, electric and compressor motors, operate cargo pumps, operate cryogenic tank/pipeline valves, and operate manual and hydraulic booms.
  • Maintains adequate critical spares and general vessel parts inventory levels.
  • Responsible for the repair, maintenance, and upkeep of all LNG Tank Barge machinery, equipment and operating systems such as main engines, generators, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, air systems, fuel transfer systems, alarm systems, refrigeration, piping systems, firefighting and lifesaving equipment and deck machinery including winches, capstans and cranes.
  • Troubleshoots machinery malfunctions as required and effectively communicates directly with the LNG Tank Barge Operations Manager, designated shore-side support staff and vendors, to provide timely and relevant information for the diagnoses and repair of vessel machinery and systems.
  • Communicate professionally with all vessel crews and terminal facility personnel.
  • Adjust and secure barge lines.
  • Assist with development of operations manuals.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
