Job Description

The role requires a strong analytical acumen and solution orientation to influence and guide network, platform, infrastructure and cloud operations security support efforts to avoid potential financial and operational risks to the firm and EY s customers. The role possesses high-level critical thinking skills and the ability to quickly identify and understand where there are gaps in the support model and communicate or propose changes to the technical strategy to drive operational readiness measures. The role s insight and proposed actions should strive to be strategic, look beyond stop gap measures and seek to drive improvements to the technical operation and support of Information Security technologies in a manner that balances the firm s security needs with the business impact and benefit. The role requires the ability to deal effectively and efficiently with escalations and time sensitive, difficult situations/people under pressure particularly in the area of restoration of servicesSkills and attributes for successStrong technical knowledge in managing Network, Windows, and Linux applicationsStrong knowledge of Networking and the OSI model as well as OS level supportStrong understanding networking/LAN/WAN/DMZ, Firewalls, DNS, LDAP and PKI infrastructuresKnowledge of Azure and newer technologies such as Containers and ClusteringRe-creates, analyzes, troubleshoots, and diagnoses incidents relating to Information Security technologies in multi-tenency cloud environmentAdheres to EY and ITIL guidelines for Incident, Problem and Change ManagementPlanning with security architecture on network and cloud security requirements.Maintain a solid understanding of the entire Information Security Engineering and Architecture solution landscape.Provide consultative guidance to security teams around best practices, deployment methods and operation/adoption of cloud focused security solutions.Provides technical expertise to enable all necessary operational proceduresCommunicates operational support issues on an ongoing-basisManages application enhancements to improve performance and stabilityMaintains a working knowledge of the overall technical operating environment to support proper recognition and impact of service issues and to position improvement opportunities as part of Information Security s Production supportManifests analytical and problem solving abilities to negotiate issues, handle ambiguity as well as changing priorities and to provide solutions that are both financially sound and operationally feasiblePossesses the proper time and incident management disciplines to self-direct improvement initiatives and to align activities throughout the incident life cycleTo qualify for the role you must haveApproximately 5 to 7 years working within Information Technology in a global firmOver 1+ years experience of ITIL Incident Management and co-ordination in a large organizationBreadth of knowledge and experience in a wide variety of technologies and software solutionsDemonstrable knowledge of one or more of the following disciplines: Unix/Linux, Windows 2012 server O/S, Web/IIS, networking/LAN/WAN/DMZScripting having knowledge and experience with Microsoft PowerShell (required) and Linux shell scripting (preferred). Being able to understand and use best practices of completing tasks and finding solutions using existing or building new scripts to help automate today s manual infrastructure and application tasks.Strong understanding of IPv4 subnettingITIL Foundational Certification is required.Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or similar technical qualification a plusCOMPTIA Security +Certified Information Systems Security Processional (CISSP) ,Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) certifications or other Information Security related a plusIdeally, you ll also haveThe role will require the individual to be in an On Call rotation for escalation of production-related issuesThe role may also require the periodic allocation of additional time on the job to support multiple demands and escalating issues or to accommodate teams or staff in other time zones.Will require occasional weekend work to accommodate production scheduled downtimes to minimize impact to the business.The role possesses high-level critical thinking skills and the ability to quickly identify and understand where there are gaps in the support model and communicate or propose changes to the technical strategy to drive operational readiness measures.What we look forEY is looking for a self starter who is motivated and must have a strong desire to learn new and emerging technologies.
