Maxwell GeoSystems is an innovative SaaS company whose technology allows civil engineering professionals to generate state of the art reports and acquire real-time information throughout the entire project management process. This is revolutionary software, replacing outdated Excel reporting and a real market-defining company in the industry.

The company is seeking an outstanding, experienced professional to join the team as a Technical Writer - Content Experience to help build on their existing success by designing elegant, creative, informative and simple-to-use system User Manuals and accompanying Video Support/Training collateral.

The Technical Writer - Content Experience will create and manage the generation of the MissionOS software system Web User Manuals to help our customers understand how all of its features and functionality connect together as well as to identify, prioritise and deliver content that helps make the use and application of the software understandable to everyone.

Our content spans all Maxwell GeoSystems products and versions, system updates, devices, languages, and publishing locations. Our customers range from novice first-time users to skilled analysts, project managers and senior construction engineers with deep product and technical expertise.

The Technical Writer - Content Experience will bring a fresh perspective to the design, appearance and production of this essential technical support material and manage the complete process of content creation, production through to publication.

The position will work collaboratively with a multi-functional team of Senior engineers, programmers, developers, marketing & management executives throughout the entire product field ensuring a highly effective User experience is achieved.

You will be working closely with the Project Engineers & Technical team you will be using the latest and best of content technologies wherever and whenever possible. You possess a sense of order, focus, attention to detail and punch.

Some of the duties you ll be doing

• Creating & writing content for Web User Manuals (WUMs) for the MissionOS software system.

• Creating & generating accompanying video walk-thru for WUMs with voice-over narrative.

• Working collaboratively with other developers, product engineers and marketing team.

• Maintaining the WUMs system library, upgrades, versioning and online index.

• Overseeing the extension and evolution of our products design systems across new features and enhancements.

• Understanding client requirements and system requirements from the Geotechnical Team and creating technical documents and manuals for the IT development team.

• Other duties as assigned.

Who you are.

• Experienced and educated. The company looking for an individual who knows the craft of technical writing, and ideally will have worked on commercial software for at least 3 years.

• Self-taught with valid certifications may also be considered.

• You have a B.S or B.A degree in Technical Communication or a related discipline, and have experience writing for a variety of audiences and user experiences.

• You will have worked with your share of tools and processes. Software localisation, In-app User assistance, Adobe Creative Suite.

• Customer focused. You are intensely curious about how customers user the MissionOS system, and work to deliver content that helps them succeed in their day-to-day tasks.

• Hands on. Your typical approach to figuring out how something works is to try it and see.

• Innovative. With the ideas and know-how to create modern, cutting-edge content, and take the initiative to help rethink our help experience.

• Technical. Learns about new technology and customer domains quickly.

• Extreme attention to detail.

• Comfortable writing technical content in an approachable tone.

• Ability to identify issues, challenges, and gaps associated with the content.

• Ability to understand briefs and translate briefs into high-quality product collaterals.

• Passion for technology, communication and strong understanding of the industry and organisation s mission.

• Basic understanding of web technologies and programming languages to publish viral tech blogs.

• Excellent command over written and verbal communication.

• Adept at Multi-tasking, creative thinking and working independently.

Skills and Experience

Technical skills and experience you should process to perform well on the job:

• Write clear, consistent, concise copy & user-interface content, manuals, landing pages, video narratives.

• UX Writer competency an added plus.

• Maintain and document evolving content and voice/tone standards in-line with brand.

• Be adept and familiar with Adobe Creative Suite - Illustrator, Photoshop, PremierePro, AdobeXD, InDesign, Acrobat Pro, also software localisation and In-App User assistance.
