Job Description

The Production Supervisor in the apparel industry is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing process, ensuring production targets are met, maintaining quality standards, and optimizing workflow efficiency. This role involves supervising workers, managing resources, and ensuring adherence to safety and compliance standards.Key Responsibilities:1. Production Planning & Execution Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to ensure efficient workflow. Monitor production schedules and ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality. Allocate tasks to workers and ensure smooth operation of production lines. Ensure optimal utilization of resources to minimize waste and maximize productivity.2. Quality Control & Compliance Ensure garments meet the required quality standards at every stage of production. Conduct regular quality checks and address any defects or inconsistencies. Implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production processes. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.3. Team Supervision & Workforce Management Manage, train, and supervise production staff to maintain high performance levels. Assign duties and responsibilities to workers based on skills and production requirements. Resolve any staff-related issues, ensuring a positive and productive work environment. Conduct performance evaluations and recommend improvements or additional training.4. Inventory & Material Management Monitor stock levels of raw materials, fabrics, and accessories to prevent shortages. Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely replenishment of materials. Ensure proper handling, storage, and utilization of materials to reduce wastage.5. Machinery & Equipment Maintenance Ensure all machinery and equipment are in proper working condition. Coordinate maintenance schedules and report any technical issues to the maintenance team. Implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime.6. Process Improvement & Cost Control Identify areas for process optimization to improve production efficiency. Reduce production costs by implementing best practices and minimizing rework. Analyze production data and implement corrective actions to enhance output.7. Health & Safety Compliance Ensure a safe and clean work environment by enforcing workplace safety regulations. Conduct safety training sessions and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Address any workplace hazards and report incidents as per company policies.8. Reporting & Documentation Maintain production reports, efficiency records, and quality control documentation. Provide regular updates to management on production progress, issues, and solutions. Track key performance metrics and implement improvements based on data analysis.Qualifications & Skills: Proven experience in a supervisory role in the apparel or textile industry. Strong knowledge of garment manufacturing processes, quality control, and production planning. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Problem-solving ability and decision-making skills to address production challenges. Proficiency in production management software and basic computer applications.
