Adult Vaccination Lead (Senior Medical Advisor)

Job Description

There is a requirement for a support from an experienced individual contributor for Senior Manager (Adult Vaccination Lead)

• Contribute to the Vaccines India Medical with a special focus on Adult Vaccination Portfolio by actively driving the Medical and Scientific Affairs functioning that includes: helping to create adult vaccine awareness, literature reviews, publication strategy, support to the cross functional teams for fortifying partnerships across stakeholders, potential immunization programs, competitive readiness, review and implementation of clinical research programs and vaccine expertise at relevant forums

• Demonstrate a high level scientific acumen (identify touch points for medical interventions with specialties, work towards consensus recommendations and guidelines as well as closely liaison with other allied sectors like insurance, occupational health, army and so on) that will help the team to expand the vaccine franchise

• Evolve and develop a strong clinical research plan so at to support and build the existing vaccine portfolio and help launch future vaccines

• Support the commercial (including the activation team) and medical vaccine team with strong scientific information in major activities related to the licensed as well as future vaccines portfolio

• Maintain high quality standards to upscale the high learning and educational initiatives vide Digital Platform

• Collaborate with India Vaccines Medical team to align/drive the strategies and provide scientific expertise at relevant time points

• Lead the regional high-level medical activities that include the country/region Mass Gathering initiatives

• Coordinate with the Regional Medical team members for research activities that would include Cost-effectiveness, Health Economics and Outcome Research initiatives as well as generating evidence for the future vaccines burden of disease projects in the Emerging Markets

• Expert support to the country/neighboring markets national programs as and when required

1.Strategic/Policy

• Provide tactical and strategic inputs, scientific acumen and business/technical/digital expertise towards scientific promotion of assigned vaccines

2.Operational

• Lend vaccine expertize at relevant forums
  • Internal expert speaker in Pfizer-sponsored events (e.g., country advisory boards, summits, symposia, congresses, expert group meetings, close group meetings, workshops, etc.)
  • Work towards establishing a strong digital connect across various stakeholders, societies and governing bodies
  • Support the vaccination programs (e.g. Ayushman Bharat) vide meetings with national vaccination committees, technical committees in key institutions and BoH officials; preparation of documentation to support recommendations; scientific differentiation position statement, etc.

• Strengthen the relationship with Regional/Country vaccination authorities during scientific engagements & regular meetings to ensure work towards evolving country specific guidelines and recommendations
• Actively contribute to the existing and future vaccine Medical Subcommittee functions as deemed necessary

Strategize and execute clinical plan

• In consultation with concerned stakeholder review proposal ideas/protocol synopsis/budgets for Investigator Sponsored Research/Collaborative Research/Non Interventional Studies
• Undertake pharmacoeconomic/outcomes research studies, and other clinical projects/ programs.
• Review/interpret data generated; assist with medical expertise in finalizing reports for the studies as required

Competitive analysis and readiness

• Update vaccine teams with competitive analysis of data and publications and contribute in the preparation of internal (MIND issues) and regional (Vmails) circulars
• Provide medical and scientific updates on emerging data by reviewing publications, and analysis of new and evolving recommendations, etc.

Future pipeline vaccines

• Play an active role in need assessment for pipeline vaccines
• Keep an eye on epidemiology of relevant diseases and strategize country specific studies on disease burden and/or need for these vaccines
• Work closely with Clinical Research and Regulatory teams to help fast track the registration of identified vaccine candidates in the country
• Spokesperson at Pfizer regional medical forums to spearhead country picture and plans for vaccines

Medical Information

• Assist the medical information team to provide useful, timely, accurate, and balanced medical information to internal (sales staff) and external (HCPs) customers, in adherence to relevant SOPs/policies

Publication support

• Develop and execute the publication strategy for the country to align with the Competitive Readiness, National Programs, Regulatory Strategy, Review articles and Studies
• Help opinion leader submissions through the Publication Subcommittee procedures

Regulatory

• Provide scientific support to registration of pipeline vaccines or new indications to existing vaccines by providing assistance toprepare regulatory documentation (ie, scientific update on new data or studies)
• Ensure delivery of high-level scientific presentations at the BoH meetings as and when required
• Write, revise, and review labeling documents for pipeline/local products per relevant SOPs

Manage Budgets

• Manage OPEX spends for the committed projects

Ensure Internal Vaccines Capabilities are Advanced

• Upscale the high learning initiative with the optimal use of technology to update the internal stakeholders and propagate the i-learning concept through use of iPAD, ensuring learning of medical APPS
• Impart a top level scientific support to neighboring countries as and when required

Compliance

• Ensure Ethics, integrity & fairness through compliance/risk management
• Be a champion for high level medical initiatives involving compliance

REQUIRED SKILL SETQualification & ExperiencePostgraduate in Pharmacology/Medicine with a minimum of 6 years of medical affairs experience.Graduates in Medicine with a minimum 10 years of medical affairs experience.Special Skills & Knowledge

• Knowledge of pharmaceutical medicine including clinical pharmacology, medical and paramedical sciences, medical statistics and relevant Therapeutic Area/Products (Vaccines)
• Expertise in doing HEOR and/or cost effectiveness studies is highly desirable
• Relevant certifications in clinical research, management, intellectual property law is desirable
• Communication skills, both written and verbal (including medical writing and presentation skills)
• Analytical skills and reasoning, and sound medical judgment/decision making

• Possess sound digital technology skills
