  • Test Manager is responsible for building test strategy, test plan and define the scope of testing for each delivery of the application ensuring testing is performed accordingly and with minimum leakage contributing to improving software quality. He/she is responsible for precise test execution and validation of test results. He/she must work closely with development teams to create understand project requirement and plan testing activities. He/she will work under minimal supervision to carry out procedures and execute testing to ensure that the application meets project engagement and requirements.
Business
  • Managing releases End to End ensuring quality and compliance in delivery of each team member. This includes managing all testing phases like SIT/UAT/Regression/PT
  • Test Manager is expected have in depth knowledge in the Governance, Risk & Compliance platform (GRC) with thorough knowledge of all modules
  • Negotiating the ongoing purpose and deliverables of the test effort
  • Ensuring the appropriate planning and management of the test resources
  • Assessing the progress and effectiveness of the test effort
  • Advocating the appropriate level of quality by the resolution of important Defects
  • Advocating an appropriate level of testability focus in the software development process
  • Must have automation skills and ability to script regression suits using Java Selenium
  • Must have knowledge of automation framework like Cucumber, Genie
  • Test Manager must work closely with business team to understand the domain related test requirements and co-ordinate the testing end to end from UT to UAT ensuring phase wise entry and exit criteria are met
  • Test Manager should ensure a proper hand over to business users for UAT testing post SIT phase conducting walkthroughs etc wherever needed
Processes
  • Test Manager will be responsible to ensure that the organization defined testing standards are adhered to with respect to SDF and TDA processes. He/she is also responsible for ensuring that the testing approach and execution process is in compliance with audit requirements.
  • Conduct RCA for production defects/Incidences, and enhance test coverage accordingly
  • Must be capable of strategizing, planning and identifying test scenarios
  • Must ensure end to end coverage of test cases and the execution of the same
  • Should execute test cases and establish traceability as per org standards
  • Should have a good knowledge on GRC modules which is mandatory
  • He/she should be able to drive calls and run defect triage meetings to analyse the root cause
  • Should have the capability to analyse test metrics and prepare effective test closure documents capturing the highlights of execution and outcome of testing enabling the management to take a clear call on go/no go decisions.

  • Test Manager must exhibit excellent team player qualities and ready to work, support and groom the team whenever and wherever needed.
  • A good problem solver and a person who can display role model characteristics should be good fit.
  • Must have good people skills, especially diplomacy and advocacy skills
  • He/She must show growth in skill set and have an appetite to learn and grow.
  • Test Manager mush be capable to deploy and manage resources for testing across the book of work and ensure quality and on time delivery
  • Identifying improvement areas in team members and providing an effective feedback and guidance
  • Must be able to develop an working group who can work independent and effective
Risk Management
  • It is a very important responsibility of the Test Manager to identify and foresee any Risks that may inhibit his/her day to day activities thereby causing impact to delivery. He must have the potential to foresee such risks, come up with mitigation plan and clearly put forward to the project team
Governance
  • Knowledge of all aspects of the software engineering process
  • experience in a wide variety of testing efforts, techniques and tools
  • Process governance, thorough knowledge of test processes and best practices
  • Ability to use Jira effectively to track test progress
  • Bank s standards and audit requirements
  • Ability to articulate effective baseline documents for testing
  • Ensuring quality in delivery by reviewing test cases and result
  • Ability to highlight when process adherence is not in place and take corrective actions
