Job Description

  • Provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs by developing applications within mature technology environments. Utilize mature (3rd or 4th Generation) programming methodologies and languages and adhere to coding standards, procedures and techniques while contributing to the technical code documentation.
  • Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution and understand and comply to Project Life Cycle Methodology in all planning steps.
  • Adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications.
  • Additionally, document the detailed application specifications, translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/Enhance software application modules. Participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications; identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues; and review and provide feedback to the final user documentation. Support production environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development of key functionality within the application
  • Carry out design reviews/code reviews at agreed points throughout the project life cycle
  • Work closely with the vendor development team to monitor the design/development undertaken by them
  • Hands on design and development of technical artifacts
  • Participate in technical reviews, define/Improve processes on configuration management, deployment and resiliency planning for the application.
Qualifications Essential:
  • Experience of 6-10 years in Informatica, Oracle PL/SQL, Perl, Unix scripting, scheduling tools such as Auto-sys or Control M
  • Having experience of developing complex mappings using user interpreted logics.
  • Efficiency in writing sql queries,PL/SQL procedures, tuning of sql queries.
  • Hands-on on Unix shell scripts
  • Having good customer handling capabilities.
  • Having very good record in meeting project timelines.
  • Trained on Agile Methodology-Scrum
  • Experience on Reporting tool like Qlikview or Tableau would be an additional advantage
Desirable:
  • Experience in Qlikview, Tableau would be a plus
  • Experience or knowledge of client reference data as it relates to an Investment Bank would be an advantage
  • An understanding of the investment banking and client reference data experience in one or more of the following business areas:: Fixed Income, FX, F&O, Credit Derivatives, Interest Rate Derivatives, and Hedge Funds
  • Experience in Agile development techniques like Scrum and Test Driven development
  • Exposure to Git, SVN, Maven, crucible, sonar and JIRA desirable
Essential Experience:
  • 2-4 year experience within an investment-banking environment, preferably within the Client information space
  • Exposure to technology development projects and the full technology development lifecycle
  • Excellent Communication and Inter-personal skills, both with business customers and with fellow IT professionals (Business Analysts, Project Managers and Developers).
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • A delivery focused approach to work and the ability to work without direction
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
