Job Description

    • Responding to emails received from internal Morgan Stanley Client Service Representatives (CSR), clients fund administrators on exceptions in portfolio, transaction processing, reporting inquires, analysis of corporate action deals, P&L variances etc.
    • Making adjustments to client portfolios on the Morgan Stanley Portfolio Accounting (MSPA) system to account for discrepancies between client portfolio and custody statements (MS and hearsay brokers) per mail requests
    • Analyzing client portfolios and responding to inquiries of various financial products like equities, bonds, options, futures, Repo, CDS, swaps, OTC derivatives
    • Provide corporate action coverage to the clients and respond to their inquiries around entitlements, payouts, reporting, elections, etc.
    • Handhold asset transfers for the client by liaising between client, counterparty and various internal Morgan Stanley teams like margins, stock lending, finance, etc.
    • Validate dividend and interest accruals in clients portfolio to ensure that the same is accrued and paid correctly
    • Communicating with CSR over telephone to understand client issues and helping them explain to clients the resolution options with preferred selections.
    • The team also provides other services to the Hedge Fund clients in the areas of due diligence, ad-hoc projects in analysis of data, loading data and testing portfolio for new clients, etc.
    Skills required (essential)
    • Graduation in Finance (M. Com/ MBA) with good academic record
    • Good analytical skills to work on capital market products
    • Ability to anticipate and provide solutions to accounting, reporting inquiries and operational problems
    • Fluency in English and excellent articulation skills to present own views while dealing with various Morgan Stanley groups in India and overseas
    • Ability to work well in teams and manage relationships with global colleagues
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, managing expectations along the way
    • Aptitude to work on multiple proprietary systems/ applications
    • Ability to work efficiently on MS Excel spreadsheets
    Skills desired
    • Previous experience in capital markets
    • Certification in NCFM modules or similar
    • Enthusiasm to volunteer for planning, organizing and participating in events held by the department and firm
