Job Title:AssociateDate:Department:Collateral ManagementLocation:Business Line / Function:Global Market OperationsReports to: (Direct) Manager/Team LeadGrade: (if applicable) (Functional) Number of Direct Reports:Directorship / Registration:NAPosition PurposeThe Collateral Management Group processes the Net Present Value of the portfolio of trades between BNP Paribas and its counterparties on a daily basis and ensures that this exposure is sufficiently collateralised. Volumes processed by the Collateral Management Group have increased significantly over the years; this trend is expected to continue in an environment of declining credit quality together with increasing pressure from regulators to mitigate credit risk.The group interacts closely with Traders, Marketers, Legal, Credit and Operations. The collateralised portfolios consist of practically all products traded within BNPP Capital Markets, including OTC Fixed Income (Swaps, Repos, FX, Credit Derivatives, FRA s, CAPs, Swaptions and Exotics) and Equity Derivatives. The Group also supports the collateralisation of FI repos. Responsibilities Direct Responsibilities Collateral Management New Business:
    • Ensuring collateral terms of new business agreements are correctly reflected in margining systems:
      • Validate and action all new agreements into Algo (New / Amendments & Corrections)
      • Input parameters including, but not limited to, Eligibility MTA , Threshold, Rounding, Exposure
      • Establish correct contact details for the client and send BNPP details.
      • Maintain new agreements / amendments spreadsheet showing agreement input life-cycle
      • Ensure all agreements have been 4-eyed for audit purposes
      • Terminate old agreements in line with Legal systems
      • Ensure hard copies of agreements, together with any supporting documentation, are kept and filed
      • Produce management information data re. new agreements
      • Produce Exposure reports on an ad-hoc basis. (eg, Crisis Management reporting)
      • On-boarding of Collateral Relationships onto electronic messaging platform.
    Ensuring Collateral management can operationally support new business requirements of the business:
      • Analyse the impact of agreements in negotiation on the daily workflow of Collateral Management Discuss deviations from the standard workflow with Management.
      • Represent Collateral Management requirements in the set-up of new agreements Liaison with the Business, Legal, Credit and other Operations functions (middle office, settlement, custody / corporate actions)
      • Ownership tracking unsupportable Collateral Agreement clauses with Risk Function.
    REPORTING The position will report into Manager of Collateral Management, New Business. Technical & Behavioral Competencies
    • Good Product knowledge of derivative products and repos.
    • Strong knowledge on the life cycle of a trade.
    • Strong knowledge of Collateral Management Processes.
    • Previous experience in Operations, Collateral Management Operations or another Middle Office Operation functions within Investment Banking.
    • Good understanding of legal documentation governing Collateral Agreements, CSA and GMRA.
    • Communication skills Required for an effective liaison with the other parties involved in the negotiation and set-up of a new collateral agreements and the (middle offices, marketers, XVA, traders, credit and legal,) and parties involved in data validation issues (middle office, Pnl teams, R3)
    • Time Management and an ability to adapt to varying demands
    • Ownership of issue resolution.
    • Strong Excel skills favorable.
