The position requires daily interaction with various broker dealers globally as well as internal sales and trading desks, other Operations groups, and technology teams. The OTC Settlements is a global team with footprints in Mumbai, Glasgow & Baltimore.Background on the TeamThe group is divided into several teams by product and function, offering the fantastic opportunity to learn a variety of different derivatives products and functions within the larger Derivatives settlements team. Cash Settlements is divided into several teams by product and function. This offers the successful candidate the opportunity to learn the intricacies of a variety of complex products and functions within the larger Settlements team. Each team is responsible for controlling risk by managing relationships with clients and counterparties to ensure that high risk settlements are settled in a timely manner and any post-settlement issues or discrepancies are identified, escalated appropriately and resolved.Product CoverageFixed Income OTC Derivatives products, including Interest Rate Swaps, Credit Default Swaps, Cross Currency Swaps, Swaptions, Collateralized Debt Obligations (CDO) and CDS on Asset Backed Securities.Primary Responsibilities- Work on day to day Cash Settlements functions - Ensuring timely settlement of cash flows and Investigation and resolution of fails - Subject Matter expert for function and product covered within the group- Analysis of current processes and identification of process/system to increase efficiencies- Attention to detail and accuracy- Metrics reporting using Excel- Supporting applicable Change the Bank and Run the Bank Projects impacting the team, from inception; providing SME support, testing and monitoring into Production and be actively involved in UAT testing- Escalation point for issues and discrepancies with external and internal counterparties- Ensure timely settlement of cash flows and resolution of fails- Subject Matter expert for function and product covered within the group- Ability to think out of the box and work on identification of process/system to increase efficiencies- Supporting applicable Change the Bank and Run the Bank Projects impacting the team, from inception; providing SME support, testing and monitoring into Production- Client and Business Unit relationship management- Participation in industry forums where applicable, *Skills required (essential)- Bachelors Degree- Experience within a Settlements or applicable product related role- Strong analytical, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills- Proven ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure in a fast paced-multi tasking environment- Proactive and self-motivated- Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills- Flexible working in Shift (US hours)Skills desired- 4+ years of experience within Settlement operations- Strong IT skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel)- Strong product knowledge (Equity, Commodities, FID, or FX)- Some experience in oversight of team members
