Job Description

ROLE:

JioSaavn is looking for an enthusiastic and self- motivated lyrics expert with strong collaborative skills to do extensive music research! A successful candidate will be someone who consumes a lot of music, is willing to dive deep into the lyrics of a Tamil song and is adept at carrying out primary and secondary research on music and lyrics. We re looking for someone who deeply understands the nuances of Tamil lyrics and music. Someone who can dig deep and capture the essence of a song by decoding the verses, in depth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Annotate/Explain Tamil lyrics on a daily basis
  • Translation and transliteration of Tamil lyrics in English
  • Generate interesting trivia related to the music
  • Transcribe lyrics as well as correct them wherever applicable
  • Proofread to make sure content generated is accurate and appropriate
  • Create weekly list of songs to annotate
  • Escalate issues to the team manager when appropriate
  • Assist team manager and JioSaavn management with special projects when necessary
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with colleagues
  • Work effectively to achieve individual, team and company objectives
  • Provide flexible support for team members and other JioSaavn teams and foster a positive and motivating environment

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extremely fluent in both Tamil English. (spoken and written)
  • Experience in music journalism/literature background would be ideal
  • Fluency in a language apart from Tamil and English would be an advantage
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Impeccable internet research skills
  • Familiarity with the digital music space
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Passionate and takes pride in quality of output
  • Openness when it comes to annotating different styles of songs
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Excellent listening skills, inquisitive, positive, team- oriented, enthusiastic approach
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects in an organized manner
  • Friendly, polite and tactful nature
  • Ability to think on one s feet, cope with multiple projects and deadlines
  • High energy and an entrepreneurial spirit
