Job Description

Position DetailsPosition Assistant/Deputy Manager- Metallurgical Lab (CQA)Business Unit/DivisionAD(KND) Quality-ManufacturingReports To CQA Department HeadPlace of Posting KandivaliResponsibilities & Key Deliverables

  • Effective and efficient handling of all the roles and responsibilities of Metallurgical lab.
  • Contribute in analysis of key Metallurgical issues and their resolution for both in house and supplier parts.
  • Working along with manufacturing to develop action plans for in house , supplier concerns and monitor the effectiveness
  • Conduct Heat treatment process validations and audits, also involvement in improvement projects.
  • Supplier product and process improvements along with SQA and Development.
  • Warranty/line failures root cause analysis for metallurgical parameters.
  • Support to all the Product Units and their quality teams from the metallurgical front.
  • Support Development and sourcing in new projects and developments.
  • Streamline lab operations and manpower skill development.
  • Interaction with suppliers for concern analysis and improvements.
  • To improve cost of quality through proactive checking of vendor parts in labs.(Prepare and execute plan)
  • Ensure timely delivery of reports and maintain 100% accuracy.
  • Create a data bank of past defects and monthly monitoring of non- conformances and their closure.
Job RequirementsExperience (years)3-5 YearsIndustry Preferred Manufacturing industry essential ;Preferably from automotive and auto ancillary.QualificationGraduate(B.E/B.Tech) in Metallurgical engineeringPersonality TraitsCompetencies

  • Awareness about Quality standards, Systems (Preferred -ISO 17025), Practices.
  • In depth knowledge of Metallurgy and materials technology.
  • Hands on experience on testing equipment s like hardness testers, Spectrometer, Polishing, lapping & Etching.
  • Sound Knowledge of various manufacturing processes, heat treatment processes, foundry practices, Powder metallurgy & Rubber testing.
  • Thorough knowledge on castings, forgings, steels and their properties.
  • Basic Technical acumen on Vehicle Systems.
  • Knowledge about new trends and special processes.
