Automation Test Analyst

Job Description

Automation Test Analysts participate in the execution of tests based on test cases that detail system navigation, input, and expected test results. When defects are encountered, they log them into a tracking system. Quality Analysts may focus on their area in Test Management, Test Analyses, or Technical Test Analyses. Quality Analysts may assist more senior Quality Analysts in establishing software quality standards for life cycle, development, testing, maintenance, and documentation. They work with and provide guidance to Test Leads in executing tests based on test cases that detail system navigation, input, and expected test results. Quality Analysts are expected to have a basic familiarity with Root Cause Analysis and Defect Prevention. Test Analysts should know defect life cycle.Desired Qualifications:Bachelor s degree in Management, Science, Engineering or related fieldFoundation ISTQB qualification is highly desirableCompetencyKnowledge and ability to perform testing of software and/or hardware using a systematic approach using testing standards, methodologies and principles(i.e., the orderly progression of testing in which software elements, hardware elements or both are combined and tested until the entire system has been integrated)

• Contributes materially to quality assurance and testing
• Demonstrates expertise with using at least one quality assurance and testing tool
• Tests and debugs modules with basic to intermediate levels of complexity
• Conducts system and systems integration testing and executes test scripts for modules
• Understands and applies testing standards, methodologies and principles set forth by the organization
• Documents and evaluates test results and recommends possible root causes of any issues identified
• Manages own workflow to ensure high quality and consistency of test results
• Demonstrates basic understanding of database management, design concepts and levels of database queries
• Understands and can articulate the basic difference between different data models, including notably the relational model, the entity-relationship model and the object model
• Displays an awareness of one or more Operation Systems, and their common uses
• Demonstrates commonly used testing techniques like BVA, ECP, CEG, OAT etc

Specific skills and competencies

• Agile with Mobile, Compatibility, Usability, Continuous Integration testing with flavour of Build Acceptance, Deployment and Pre-production / Post Production automated testing to certify integrity of the end to end solution (including Environments management)
• 3 to 5 years of overall experience as a technical professional-- Last 3 years in multiple automation and/or technical projects on Various platforms including Devices, Browsers, Hardware, OS combinations-- A technical profile working on new edge technologies and solution/platform testing in Agile environment including Configuration/Infrastructure/Operational Acceptance testing (not mandatory)-- Worked on BDD, TDD, ATDD, CI testing (minimum one), Logical Left Shift Framework-- Must have worked on multiple tools in this space, preferred tools (not limited to) : Selenium, Cucumber, Fitnesse, Hudson/Jenkins, Perfecto, SeeTest, Borland SilkTest, Eggplant, GIT, TFS, JIRA, CruiseControl-- Mobile Automation : Enterprise solution Testing

• Minimum 3 years of automation testing experience (Mandatory)-- VB Script, Automation Frameworks (Hybrid, DD, KD, BPD)-- Minimum 2 secondary skills from the position of Senior Technical Analyst (at least one project end to end of minimum 6 months duration)
