Hiring AVP - AS/400 (IT) responsible for handling core policy administration system with a leading Life Insurance Company in Mumbai Thane . Designation: AVP - IT AS/400 Experience Required: 15-18 years of experience in AS/400 application development & minimum 3 years of experience in COBOL/400. Qualification: Graduation / Technical Education Location: Thane Mumbai Purpose of PositionThis position is primarily responsible for handling core policy administration system. The candidate would be required to manage a team of developers and vendor resources to ensure timely delivery of requirements with utmost quality on IBM AS/400 platform. This role includes managing development, maintenance & production support teams. Coordinate with various business stakeholders to understand business requirements, provide solutioning & drive team to implement the same. Drive team in analyzing production issues and fixing root cause issues to ensure reduction of tickets and delivering regulatory requirements on time. Also he/she needs to review functional and technical design specifications, oversee development, perform code reviews, obtaining signoffs prior to release, plan implementation, post production verification and support. Key Responsibility Areas1. Manage development, production support teams to deliver as per SLA & publish reports to management2. Involve in user interactions to understand strategic/business initiatives and align team to support the delivery accordingly3. Coordinate with Infrastructure team for AS400 system level controls & changes4. Ensure team support for EOD & EOM processes to ensure smooth run of production5. Strategize system/process improvements, Plan and execute projects to automate/optimize processes to reduce ticket inflow and ensure stability of application which will help in improving Ease of Doing business for IT & Operational teams6. Drive support team to deliver root cause fix & automation to reduce repetitive issues7. Provide technical assistance to the team, mentor team members on technology and application areas8. Ensure resolution of customer complaints, audit/compliance issues on priority9. Understand regulatory requirements and align support to deliver on-time.10. Coordinate with other module leads & managers to identify integration related improvements and ensure stable data interfaces between applications11. Track changes & build metrics for management reporting. Skills RequiredStrong technical expertise in IBM AS/400 application programming using CLP, COBOL/400, ILE RPG/400, DB2/400. Atleast 3 years of experience in COBOL/400 is mandatory. Experience with ALDON CMS is preferred. Excellent communication and people management skills both written and verbal. Exposure to Life Insurance would be an added advantage.,
