Job Description

    *CPBB Risk Services CoE is the offshore arm of the CPBB Risk and is an integral part of Global Risk Services in GBS.Strategy
    • Oversee and implement changes in approaches, methods, products, and processes to enhance competitiveness and improve organizational efficiencies. Identify, strategize, develop, and drive transformative initiatives and champion the role of innovation by aligning function strategic priorities with innovative thinking.
    • Drive and Support enterprise wide / function wide projects / initiatives in the data and technology area by collaborating with the relevant parties within and outside CPBB Risk.
    • Support and drive risk learning programs for the function. Inculcate a culture of learning and upskilling in the hub.
    • The mitigation of risk by providing accurate and timely information necessary to support management decisions.
    • Ensure compliance with all internal policies and regulatory requirements.
    Risk Management Process Support
    • Regularly engage with regions and countries to identify and implement efficiencies in processes and / or set up new processes or mechanisms by adopting an innovative approach or technologies for realising the strategic priorities.
    • Drive and realise the Information management journey for CPBB Risk - golden sourced, straight through, automated and self-served.
    • Implement the TOR and TOM for Investment prioritisation, approval within the function and representation at the relevant forum.
    • Deliver the key business information requirement from offshored operations required to run an effective risk organisation.
    • Support Overall management of Data strategy and Data quality management framework for CPBB Credit risk.
    • Enhance compliance by appropriate support to the approved initiatives - e.g. bcbs239, pci dss.
    • Drive the PQR and Partnership PQR journey forward and achieve the target operating state.
    • Drive Identification of opportunities for automation within the hub.
    • Implement a resilient and appropriate BI Tool for CPBB Risk.
    People and Talent
    • Employ, engage and retain high quality people.
    • Define an organisation structure aligned and scaled to the risk control needs of the Function, balancing Group and local requirements as necessary.
    • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.
    • Ensuring that the necessary trainings (on-the-job or classroom) are conducted to the team and provide required job knowledge.
    • Ensure quality processing and adherence to all key controls and checks.
    • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of the people.
    • Responsible for handling all queries relating to unit.
    Operational Risk and Governance
    • Embed the group s values and code of conduct, as it relates to the role remit, to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employees form part of the culture.
    • Maintain acceptable level of understanding and risk capabilities of Operational Risk Framework to maintain the Risk profile of processes.
    • To ensure risks of processing failure are being actively controlled end-to-end.
    • Engage with relevant audit report findings and ensure feedback is acted upon.
    • Actively participate in committees and management group meetings.
    • Ensure effective controls and assurance over hubbed operations.

    • Ensuring that proper backups are being arranged for critical reports.
    • Ensure that the Cost Budgets are met according to management targets

    Our Ideal Candidate
    • Appropriate academic training and / or experience in finance, business or Economics; Bachelors university degree is a must and a post-graduate degree is desired.
    • More than 15 years of functional risk experience in the areas of Retail Credit Risk.
    • Good knowledge and grasp of banking practice, Retail Banking lending products and awareness of the regulatory frameworks by home and host regulators.
    • Ability to make independent decisions with a strong sense of empowerment and leadership skills working in open ended situations.
    • Bank training; i.e. mandatory and developmental - role specific, and regulatory / compliance bank wide and role specific.
    • Exposure to Banks Enterprise-wise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and overall governance philosophy.
    • Ability to lead and motivate large multi location teams into changing and challenging situations.
    • Good understanding on data structure and the information flow for the risk function.
    • Basic knowledge of model risk management including for capital and impairments.
    • A fair understanding of the innovations in banking and emerging technologies.
    • Working knowledge of Operational Risk management and principles.
    • Organizational visibility of outcomes and benefits.
    • Excellent communication skills - written and oral.
    • Expertise in other areas of risk is an advantage.
    • Analytical and dispute resolution skills.
