Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support and participate in the development of index capabilities for Fixed Income products including Government, Corporate, and Municipal Bonds as well as Structured Products.
  • Partner effectively with relevant global teams, internal product groups, quantitative beta strategies researchers, client portfolio managers and/or third parties in order to facilitate and aid in the creation of new fixed income index products.
  • Develop and implement control procedures in partnership with IT teams, implementing index production processes and lead training and management of an internal support team.
  • Partner with external providers across third party index product providers, benchmark administrators and calculation agents, and data providers.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance groups to write index rulebooks and presentations for internal governance processes.
  • 3 5 years working experience in business management, preferably in index development or product management within an asset management firm or index provider.
  • Strong knowledge of Fixed Income Markets. Hands on experience working directly with a trading desk or investment team strongly preferred.
  • Excellent understanding and experience working with index products and ETFs.
  • Preference for a candidate with a knowledge of IOSCO principals, EU benchmarking rules, and SEC guidelines for self-indexing.
  • Strong technical skills including proficiency in SQL and familiarity with development toolsets (Python, C#, JAVA).
  • Knowledge of factor analytics, portfolio construction, and quantitative modeling across asset classes including fixed income and equity.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem solving, analytical, and competitive thinking skills.
  • Organized, detailed oriented, capable of advancing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; prior experience presenting to and working closely with senior management would be preferable
