Job Description

Scope of Role & Complexity:

  • Participates in the execution of goals and execution of strategies within a function
  • In an individual contributor role, functions as a key contributor with demonstrated knowledge of area of specialization as well as broader functional knowledge
Role and Responsibilities:
  • Develops end to end plan for the execution of a task or work stream
  • Ensure progress and issues are clearly communicated in an easy to understand way
  • Performs research needed to support project activities
  • Gathers, inputs and manipulates data for routine/standard business and/or financial analysis and reporting purposes
  • Analyze and document metadata using workflow tools to process output
  • Process queries against data element locations to build profiling, information and measure impact and information related to specific elements or investigate data quality issues
  • Understand where different data sets are sourced and be able to mine the data for further use.
  • Perform data analysis on large data sets with the end goal of detecting trends.
  • Develop and utilize technical expertise in IA Tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, Ui Path etc. to obtain, analyze and visualize information effectively and efficiently
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, business partners, and control partners to document impacts of data quality up and down stream, assess accuracy of analytics, and ensure accuracy around documentation of systems of record, authoritative sources and their usage
Skills:The over-riding skill that the successful candidate needs to demonstrate is the ability to deliver quality work in a busy and sometimes pressurised work environment. Other skills include:
  • Risk Management: Understands how operational risk is managed within the firm and the data sources, tools and governance forums leveraged
  • Structure and Logic: Able to apply a measured and methodical approach for new requests
  • Attention to Detail: Able to meet the high quality standards in reporting to which the team aspires
  • Highly Organised: Able to manage competing demands for time and manage expectations and across both Governance and Data teams within which they will be associated
  • Good Communicator: Excellent written and verbal skills given the communication required with global stakeholders. Also able to present and rationaise their opinion to senior stakeholders
  • Relationship Builder: Adept at building and nurturing relationships with team members and stakeholders
  • Analytical Thinker: Able to analyse data in different ways and highlight the key messages from the data analysis including recommended actions
  • Visually Innovative: Able to produce data output in a visually innovative and informative manner
Qualifications:Basic Qualification:
  • Graduate in any discipline
Total and Relevant Experience:
  • Total experience in relevant domain 5+ years
  • 2+ years of risk &controls management experience
  • 1+ years of experience with building reports in Tableau and / or using other digital tools
Technical / Functional Skills Required:
  • Prior experience working as a Risk & Controls manager or Operational Risk manager within the firm
  • Excellent proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and also Sharepoint
  • Experience in coding of Data Visualization Tools like Tableau, Qlikview, and Qliksense etc.
  • Experience in using data transformation tools such as Xceptor or Anlteryx (desirable)
  • Experience with data warehousing and user access, mining, and reporting applications/tools
