Job Description

    Job Purpose: The Head of Business for Fisheries will be responsible for overseeing the entire operations of the fishery division, including procurement, processing and business development. The individual will be responsible for driving growth and profitability of the division, as well as ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.Key Responsibilities:1. Procurement: Manage the procurement process for all raw materials, supplies and equipment required for the division. Ensure the timely delivery of materials and supplies, and negotiate favorable contracts with suppliers. Maintain a database of suppliers and their prices to make informed purchasing decisions.2. Processing: Oversee the processing of all fish products to ensure they are of high quality and meet customer requirements. Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, and implement quality control measures to guarantee the safety and wholesomeness of the products. Manage the production team to meet the needs of the business.3. Business Development: Develop and implement strategies for growth and profitability of the division. Expand the customer base by establishing new relationships and developing new markets. Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to stay ahead of competitors.4. Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets for the division to ensure profitability and control costs. Prepare financial reports and analyze key performance indicators to make informed business decisions.5. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all industry regulations and standards, including food safety,environmental and labor regulations. Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and regulations that impact the division.Requirements:
    • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Fisheries, or a related field
    • At least 15 years of experience in fisheries operations, including procurement, processing, and business development.
    • Proven track record of driving growth and profitability in a similar role.
    • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.
