Job Description

  • Opining on transactions involving Sanctions / AML red flags / Anti-boycott / Export controls implications on a daily basis.
  • Engage with stakeholders and contribute on projects within the trade finance business especially when it is related to regulatory compliance.
  • Provide resolution on highly complex trade finance transactions especially letters of credit. The candidate should be an expert in ICC rules like UCP, URC, ISP 98, URR and URDG etc.
  • Closely work with Operations Risk Management to address audit queries (internal or external). Should be capable of making presentations/demo to audit when required.
  • Continuous improvement is the culture of the team and hence the candidate should be innovative and strive to constantly improve the process. Should be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously without compromising on BAU activities.
  • Produce MIS to management on critical control activities.
  • Work with Compliance and Legal teams to help them make accurate and fact based decisions.
  • Monitor and manage transaction turnaround to meet the SLA consistently.
  • Provide technical (on trade finance products) and compliance related training to operations, sales, client services teams etc. Training experience in the previous roles would be desirable.
  • Should have people management experience and at minimum should be capable of managing small teams of 5 to 10 employees.
  • Drive and engage on firm wide initiatives.
Key Skills:
  • Graduate degree, preferably in Commerce and at least 12 15 years of previous relevant work experience.
  • Expert level knowledge of trade finance markets and products is a must.
  • Knowledge of U.S sanctions, Anti-boycott regulations, AML and export controls is a plus.
  • The position requires frequent interactions with stakeholders like, operations, product, compliance, technology etc. hence the candidate should possess good relationship management/networking skills. Good communication skill is a must.
  • The position is a risk management role and the candidate should be capable of making risk weighted decisions without succumbing to the stress and business demands. Should have a successful track record of working in a high pressure environment of similar nature.
  • Should be open for night shifts when required.
  • Should possess good skills on working with MS Office applications.
  • Software development/project experience/business analysis skill sets are an added advantage.
