Job Description

  • Provide direct technical support of OS (Linux), storage and networking in a Cloud Computing environment
  • Supervise and improve hardware monitoring and management procedures
  • Integration and engineering of new Cloud-based technologies in a fast-paced deployment environment
  • Installing, configuring, and deploying fully-distributed Linux servers
  • Assisting with day-to-day maintenance of servers, including supporting hardware changes, software installations, and upgrades
  • Analyzing and troubleshooting performance issues in OS, storage and networks
  • Incident management and troubleshooting during production outages, including coordination and communication
  • Design and track risk/problem remediation streams
  • Manage workflows, tickets and prioritization of support efforts
  • Participating in an on-call rotation and weekend work
Desired Candidate ProfileQualifications
  • You should be motivated to find the best solutions to problems of all sizes. You should have:
  • At least 3-5 years of work experience in a Linux environment, in Cloud Computing or IT domain
  • A bachelor s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • Fluency in at least one scripting/coding language: Bash, Python, Perl
  • Hands-on knowledge of various linux technologies
  • Experience using Open Source applications to deliver enterprise support and monitoring
  • Proven troubleshooting experience
  • Expertise with maintaining server builds and packaging systems
  • Experience with container technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes (a plus)
  • Experience with clustered storage solutions, such as Ceph, IBM GPFS, Quobyte (a plus)
  • Experience with HTC/HPC computing technologies like HTC Condor is a plus
  • Experience working with cloud vendors such as Amazon, Google, MS Azure
  • Experience with config management tools such as Salt, CFEngine is a plus
