Roles and responsibilities We are looking for someone has the ability to work independently and is able to understand business workflow and operational requirements. Cognos Developer/ Admin Administer and troubleshoot Cognos 10.2 in development and production. Other responsibilities will also include the development and deployment of packages, cubes, and dashboards. The position will report to the IT Applications group. Qualifications : 4 years of Cognos Administration experience Perform Cognos administration and troubleshooting Develop and deploy Cognos packages Develop and deploy Cognos cubes and dashboards Collaborate with team members to identify best practices Skills: Best practices for constructing a Framework Manager model How many layers, what goes in each layer, how do the layers tie together etc. How best to do dimensional modeling in relational tables Best practices for constructing multidimensional cubes How to handle individual students How to use distinct counts for some roll ups Best practices for Cognos report security and deployment How to keep reports from being written over Allow users to easily deploy new reports to a wide audience Allow users to run reports using old packages but prevent new reports from being created using old packages ,
