Job Description

Job Title: Content Engineer 1SUMMARYConfigures software solutions for P&C core systems processing from Agile stories using the Duck Creek toolset. Reads and interprets rules and requirements from standards organizations like ISO, NCCI, AAIS, etc. Coordinates with user interaction designers and product leadership to create strong user-centered experiences in configured software solutions. Creates a conceptual design/architecture for configuration solutions based on the Duck Creek platform and toolsetESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Configures content solutions for low to moderate complexity Agile stories
  • Coordinates with user interaction designers and product leadership to create strong user-centered experiences in configured software solutions.
  • Debugs and resolves moderate complexity configuration bugs or issues and finds the real root cause and provides a fix without collateral damage.
  • May create or assist in the creation of a conceptual design/architecture for small scale content solutions.
  • Follows development standards and effectively demonstrate configuration solutions to other engineers in code reviews
  • Performs basic source code management tasks
  • Writes automated unit and integration-level tests
  • Receives some guidance
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTSEducation and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor s degree strongly preferred, in area with analytic emphasis
  • 8 yrs. exp preferably in a technology, insurance, or otherwise related environment
  • Industry knowledge
    • P&C insurance Industry experience (Must)
    • Knowledge of either Personal, Commercial, Specialty lines (Must at least one of them)
    • INS21, INS22 and INS23 or equivalent insurance certification (Nice to Have)
  • Technical skills
    • Hands on experience in Application Development using .NET (C#), ASP.NET, SQL Server programming, XML, XSLT (Must)
    • Customer interfacing experience and customer presentations (Nice to Have)
    • Design patterns (Nice to Have)
  • Communication skills
    • Good communication skills (written and verbal) (Must)
  • Other insurance P&C packaged software experience (Must)
  • Duck Creek skills (Nice to Have)
    • Experience as Content Developer / Implementation Specialist on Duck Creek Policy / Billing / Claims
    • Experience/knowledge of Pages, Rating, Forms and Transactional Processing
  • IT experience
    • Experience / knowledge of P&C Insurance software applications (Must)
    • Experience / knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (Must)
    • Knowledge of database - SQL Server (Must)
    • Experience and understanding of XML, XSLT (Must)
    • Experience with Integration and BI Tools (Nice to Have)
Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the following competencies:
    • Ability to operate independently with minimal guidance in focus area
    • Applicable DCU boot camp assessment score

    • Mentoring coaching junior resources
    • Supervise junior resources as applicable
Other Requirements:
  • Travel: 0-10%
  • Special Work Hours: After-hours On-Call Support Engineer for emergencies as needed to triage Severity Level 1 incidents
  • Work Authorization: Legally authorized to work in the country of the job location.
