Job Description

Our TeamWith a diverse team of Compliance professionals supporting all areas of our business around the globe, the team is working diligently to be innovative and present all business partners with thoughtful and unique solutions to the challenges they face. The Compliance function has a robust set of priorities in place focused on best practice and employee development to ensure goals are delivered.In Asia, the International Private Bank (IPB) Compliance team provides regulatory advisory support to business stakeholders with respect to offering of investment products, discretionary accounts, banking and lending products, digital platform as well as trustee services. The Compliance team performs independent second-line risk assessments, implements the compliance monitoring programs, market conduct violation and sales practices framework, as well as supports the firm-wide horizontal programs on outsourcing, cross border, suitability and fiduciary.ResponsibilitiesAs the individual who takes on this role, you will assist us in managing the compliance risk associated with operating in the IPB and Trust businesses in Asia. This role will work closely with and support the IPB regional compliance team based in Singapore and Hong Kong.The role within the Corporate Center will have a primary focus supporting the Hong Kong/Singapore team s coverage of IPB Asia s Digital initiatives, which will include applications and solutions for both internal and external client facing communications. You will be expected to assist in identifying applicable regulations that are relevant to be addressed for the digital initiative, and assess the robustness of any associated control processes through engagement with other relevant business partners such as Control Management, Technology, Legal and Project Managers.Monitoring is the independent, ongoing and periodic risk based review of data, reports or other activities to oversee compliance with either policies, standards, or Legal Obligations, including controls or processes implemented to mitigate Compliance-relevant risks. Monitoring also includes repeatable reviews of outputs to identify trends/symptoms for escalation via metrics as appropriate, and may be accomplished through automated activities or manual activities. You will be working with the IPB Asia compliance monitoring leads to assist in executing monitoring activities across the Fiduciary, Cross Border, Suitability and Trust programs. In conjunction, with this, you will also be expected to provide inputs towards enhancing or re-engineering of the process as part of the periodic monitoring plan updates.An important part of the Compliance team s scope of coverage is to ensure that business stakeholders are apprised of regulatory changes, emerging risks and issues. You will assist the teams in Hong Kong and Singapore in assessing regulatory change impact, issues management and preparation of relevant Compliance MIS for governance forums and other internal reporting requirements.QualificationsMinimum 5 years of experience within a financial institutionPossessing a degree in a Financial or Technology-related field would be an advantage.Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnership with other team members.Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and work under tight timelines.Proven ability to communicate effectively in English at all levels, both orally and in writingAbility to think on his/her feet, work independently and be proactive in delivery of results.Strong sense of ownership and responsibilityInquisitive with a keen eye for detail.We recognize that our people are our strength and the diverse talents they bring to our global workforce is directly linked to our success.
