Job Description

Reference Data Operations is aligned to the Chief Data Office (CDO) which is responsible for improving the quality, integrity and reliability of the firm s critical data. The organization s objectives are to explain the path that critical data follows, improve data quality, reduce ambiguity and inconsistent terminology, enhance transparency, rationalize the number of replicated data assets, and improve firmwide- sharing of information and best practices. The CDO serves as the governing body to create firmwide standards that drive consistent data management practices, develop technologies and processes to support data management processes, partner with lines of business and functional groups to embed data management best practices and capabilities, and ensure sustainability by refining, measuring, and improving the firm s ability to manage data.Description of role, functions and activities Instrument, Pricing & Common Reference Data is an operating unit center of excellence providing a global asset pricing service to multiple lines of business across J.P. Morgan as one of its three core offerings.The Index Calculation Agent team in Delaware is responsible for the daily valuation of fixed income instruments included in the JP Morgan s global fixed income flagship benchmarks, covering both developed and emerging markets. The team manages and runs the index calculation engine used for daily and monthly index operations, client reporting and publication generation. The team is also responsible for tracking market events, affecting bond price movements.The team interacts daily with the Global Index Research Group, a part of the JP Morgan Corporate Investment Banking Research, across its global footprint (in New York, London and Asia) to ensure that the index processes, requests and systems are operating efficiently. Functions performed by the wider team in CIB include: Fixed Income market research to produce robust cutting-edge benchmark products and custom solutions for institutional investors and ETF providers, across the globe; Client interaction for strategic queries on index products; Commercialization of index services and analytical tools to buy-side clients and vendors; Implementation of new index analytics tools and platform for better client service.Key Responsibilities and Skills:

  • Drive the Reference data Controls organization strategy and ensure all RCSA artifacts are appropriately completed including: end to end process flows used to facilitate the identification of risks and controls, handshakes, risk and control matrix, residual risk reviews etc.
  • Participate in all aspects of the RCSA assessment lifecycle including but not limited to planning, substantiation/controls testing and issue/action plan reporting
  • Ensure adherence with the RCSA Oversight & Control Standards and other critical firm policies
  • Support the SOX and CCAP Programs through testing tagged processes and controls following completion of required training and in alignment with program requirements.
  • Support internal and external Audit-related activities by participating in testing processes during the pre-audit phase and compiling test documentation during the examination.
  • Partner with Operational Control Managers and Control Program Leads to resolve control breaks/gaps identified through errors or deep dive reviews by performing testing or re-testing where appropriate. Present test results to team.
  • Ensure regular updates on key control issues are communicated to the regional and global stakeholders.
  • Partner with global and regional teams and stakeholders to deliver on the controls program office work streams (IAS, SLA, User Tools, Training, Business Resiliency, Change Management etc. )
  • Support the regional Business Control Committee meetings on a monthly basis.
  • Understand and comply with regional and regulatory requirements pertaining to Reference data operations
  • Drive and execute special projects of the Global Core Controls organization.
  • Compile metrics associated to testing results to measure Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Qualifications:7+ years of financial services operational experienceBachelor s degree in a business/finance/accounting discipline preferredDemonstrated controls awareness through experience in operationsProven ability to build strong partnerships with key stakeholders and directly influence changeDemonstrated ability to effectively communicate as appropriate to multiple levels of managementStrong analytical skills with proven ability to analyze results and provide valuable insightsDetail oriented with the ability to work both as part of a team and independentlyAbility to manage responsibilities through a changing business landscape and drive initiatives to conclusionStrong time management and multitasking abilityDemonstrated experience with all MS Office products, including Microsoft VisioSOX/CCAP Program/Testing knowledge is a plus,
