You will play an instrumental role in helping us expand access to our products by working on various innovative business models, helping us reduce the barriers and thus ensure smooth access of essential and innovative medicines for the underserved and marginalized populations across the world. Position Purpose: Owns the implementation of effective strategic and tactical patient access plans at a global / regional scale. Develops a globally coordinated Patient Access strategy sought at product differentiation. Leads cross functional value and access (V&A) teams. May/may not have team management responsibilitiesYour responsibilities:Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Director - Access COE is responsible for the overall strategy and execution of Access COE aspiration which is to partner with teams across the Novartis enterprise to improve access & the standard of care for underserved populations by enabling the detailed integration and implementation of access principles, with a focus on growing the number of measurable and balanced HSS programs implemented for new molecules. Drive mind set shift around access principles by growing awareness, communication and collaboration across the enterprise through analysis and support of key business processes. Own the team, empowering them to be accountable for their programmatic work through coaching, mentoring and standardization of procedures through an unbossed team dynamic. Accountable for all activities across the Global Health Access Principles integration and Systems Strengthening. Establish the Access Principles Center of Excellence (CoE) in health systems strengthening (HSS) providing guidance to Development and Commercial Franchises, functions, and country organizations. Engage Novartis country organizations such that they value GHCR, global health innovation, and HSS as integral components of their business strategy. Established strong in-house expertise of highly innovative ways and technologies to improve access and service delivery (e.g. Novartis Global Health Accelerator, Innovation Hub, GHCR Digital and Innovation teams, etc.) Lead cross-functional teams to gather evidence which support payer value proposition and pricing strategy Represent patient access in all major cross-functional teams at the program/brand level including Global Programme Teams, Global Brand Team and Global Medical Affairs Teams.Minimum requirements What you ll bring to the role: Advanced Degree in business, economics, public health, engineering, medicine or proven experience in Global Health innovation, and/or global health entrepreneurship. 8+ years working in the Global Health, with emphasis on innovation Entrepreneurial experience with an intent to drive intrapreneurship to help Novartis achieve its ambitions in innovation and access Strong ability to align diverse stakeholders behind results-oriented objectives Strong internal and external collaboration/networks including with academia, multi laterals, donors, NGOs, and innovative financing to identify and address key challenges Demonstrated ability to approach complex Global Health challenges with an inquisitive mind-set; not afraid to propose seemingly far-fetched solutions Resilient approach to innovation, willing to accept and learn from failureWhy consider Sandoz Our number 1 priority is to pioneer patient access to better healthcare.
