Institutional Securities Group Product Operations Institutional Securities Group Product Operations (ISGPO) partners closely with Sales & Trading and our Clients to process daily activities, develop and implement new products and services, as well as drive efficiency and reduce risk in our processes. ISGPO is comprised of 5 departments: Client Operations, Trading Operations, Financing & Collateral Operations, Trade & Transaction Reporting Operations (TTRO) and Change the Bank (CTB). ISGPO MGMT ISGPO has a wonderful opportunity for an energetic, driven and knowledge hungry candidate with 3+ years of relevant Operations experience to contribute to the creation and execution of the divisions risk agenda. The role provides opportunities to gain experience of the products and activities of the division as a whole, to build a broad and valued internal network covering all stakeholders and divisions in addition to providing an opportunity to demonstrate the leadership and execution qualities required to progress their career at Morgan Stanley. The role requires a Director or Associate experienced in Operations disciplines and risk management. The Cross Product Risk Team is responsible for setting and sponsoring the ISGPO risk management agenda, alongside managing operational risk across ISG Prod Ops in partnership with all stakeholders, including; silo aligned risk management teams, line management, Tech & Ops risk, BU Non Market risk, and Audit/Compliance, among others. The team is responsible for risk management governance, design, evolution and preparation of key risk reporting to Senior Stakeholders, various proactive and preventative risk reduction initiatives focused deep dives and adherence to the firm wide risk frame work, policy, and standards. The team partners with Senior ISGPO management to carry and enhance the risk management culture of the organization through the identification of learning opportunities, risk based training, and in playing an active role in the identification of risk reduction opportunities. The role reports into the Asia region ISGPO risk manager and is part of a small team of 5 specialist risk managers across locations. As such, the role requires a confident and mature candidate with strong global communication skills. The individual will be working in a challenging and fast-paced environment with a constantly evolving agenda. The role requires regular interaction with risk managers in all divisions, line managers, and communication to various levels of management within Operations and other areas in the firm. The successful individual will have strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing. They will have a sound base of experience (3+ years) in relevant financial services roles, in particular, direct experience of Operational processing and control activities. The candidate will also be able to demonstrate the leadership qualities required to opine on and differentiate the relative risks and their value and priority. The candidate will actively partner with the risk management community to contribute to the formation of the ISGPO risk reduction agenda, as well as execute on the broader agenda. Role Description & Responsibilities - Support the Asia region ISGPO Risk representative - Support Senior Management in designing and facilitating key business aligned risk management programs and special risk aligned projects/deep dives - Focus on Asia region specific priorities - Coordination with Tech & Operations Risk, Audit, ORD, and other Ops Risk divisions on design and facilitation of division-wide initiatives, in support of governance efforts across ISG Prod Ops - Maintain strong control through the on-going development and evolution of key metrics - Global production and assistance with strategic design and automation of several key components of various risk decks; inclusive of analysis, trending, exception management and commentary - Provide team with additional leverage in both execution of the Settlement Lockdown process/Counterparty exposure reporting in the Asia time zone as well as additional oversight from the issue remediation perspective - Coordination and presentation of risk-based information to our business and management stakeholders - Coordination and Oversight of the Asia region Cancel/Correct UT control program - Ability to handle multiple work streams and prioritize effectively - Actively look for new opportunities for self-development and career progression - Shows dedication to learn from experience and mistakes; actively seek out feedback and adjusts behavior accordingly - Awareness of the long-term impact of regulatory environment and market changes on the business.
